"My voice belongs to no one but me, and I’m not running for president — this year," Pullman told The Hollywood Reporter.

The clip also features other Republican politicians and right-wing pundits such as Ted Cruz, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

One of Pullman's co-stars from the film, Vivica A. Fox, also reacted to the video on Twitter: "PRETENDING U KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING?? CANT BELIEVE U WOULD INSULT OUR CLASSIC FILM THIS WAY! BUT HEY! TYPICAL POS BEHAVIOR! U NEVER HAD THE LEADERSHIP OR COURAGE TO DO THIS ROLE! NEVER! ?????," she wrote.

Trump doesn't explain exactly why he posted the video on Twitter at this moment, as there is no caption. Perhaps it represents his battle with the coronavirus, or maybe he's hinting about the progress the country will have made by July 4th. Regardless, the tweet has over 75,000 retweets and over 240,000 likes.

Independence Day was released in 1996. The scene in question comes as fictional President Thomas J. Whitmore gives a powerful speech before battle.
