Travis Scott Arrested at Lollapalooza

Getty ImagesTravi$ Scott’s Lollapalooza show did not end as the Texas MC had probably expected. Shortly after opening his set at Chicago’s famed three-day extravaganza in Grant Park, Scott began encouraging fans to “jump over security barricades” near the front of the stage, according to the Associated Press. Rap-up has more, saying that after Scott began telling fans to jump over things began to get out of hand and he reversed course, instead imploring fans to stop or else the show would get shut down.Scott’s attempts to quell the crowd were apparently unsuccessful and he fled the scene as the festival’s organizers ended his show, although Melissa Stratton, spokeswoman for the Office of Emergency Management, told the AP the incident was placed under control quickly before any injuries were reported. Scott was arrested later on Saturday and will face charges of disorderly conduct.Scott’s arrest wasn’t the only big news that interrupted things over the weekend; a massive storm in the Chicago area brought hail down onto the city, resulting in the festival being briefly evacuated due to weather. That’s the second time in three years that the festival has faced evacuation due to extreme weather, following a similar incident in 2012.XXL will update this story as more information becomes available. Travi$’s debut album for Epic Records, Rodeo, is due out this September.
