Joey Bada$$ has been one the most promising voices in hip hop since formally introducing himself with his project 1999. Since then, he’s catapulted into mainstream success due to his highly successful album All Amerikkkan Bada$$ and 2015’s B4.Da.$$. Despite his success, he’s yet to see a platinum plaques for his efforts. That is until recently. As a few days a go, Joey Bada$$ is ficially a platinum selling artist.

Joey Bada$$’ hit single “Devastated” just hit platinum status on January 10th, according to the RIAA’s calculations. The single was released in May 2016 and later reached a Gold certification in January 2017. One year later, and it’s finally platinum. This makes it Joey Bada$$ first platinum plaque ever in his career. It’s a dope feat especially considering how much work he’s put in over the years and how dope the single was.
Aside from music, Joey Bada$$ is gearing to make a bigger splash in the culture in 2018. After appearing in PONY’s fall campaign, they revealed in December that he’s now serving as their new creative director. Alongside the announcement, he also revealed that he created a collaborative Pro Era sneaker with the company with four colorways.

In addition to his venture with PONY, he also recently revealed plans to launch his upcoming podcast called “47 Minutes.” The rapper will chime in on topics such as hip hop, politics, culture, spirituality and much more. There’s yet to be a launch date for it but he did say on Twitter that it’ll be coming very soon.
