The Grammy Awards on Sunday definitely felt more somber than usual, not only with the passing of Kobe Bryant that same day, but also due to the hyperawareness of Nipsey Hussle's absence. Nipsey passed away just about a month-and-a-half after last year's Grammys, where he received his first nomination for his debut album, Victory Lap, in the Best Rap Album category. Though he ultimately lost, Nipsey was posthumously nominated this year in three different categories: Best Rap/Sung Performance for "Higher" with DJ Khaled and John Legend, as well as Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for "Racks In The Middle" with Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy. Despite losing Best Rap Song to J. Cole and 21 Savage for "A Lot," Nip and his collaborators did nab the other two titles. While these awards are, of course, bittersweet, Roddy Ricch's latest Twitter share casts a brighter light on their win for "Racks In The Middle." The rap wunderkind posted a photo of himself hugging Nipsey's partner and the mother of his child, Lauren London, on the momentous evening.
In the tweet, Roddy wrote, "one of the greatest moments was seeing her smile cause hussle got one." Not only did Nipsey get recognized with multiple awards, but he was also honoured with a tribute performance by Roddy, John, and Khaled, along with YG, Meek Mill, and Kirk Franklin. These artists made sure to include Kobe's memory in the tribute as well, which made the performance all the more powerful and devastating.

Diplo Responds To Sia’s Sex Proposition, Loves That She’s A "Loose Cannon"
But did he take her up on it, though?
You miss out on 100 percent of the shots you never take, so Sia decided to shoot her shot with Diplo. The LSD (Labrinth, Sia, Diplo) collaborators have made magic in the studio, and Sia admitted in an interview with GQ that she not only admired him as an artist but as a good-looking man she wanted to bed down.

“Much of our relationship is just being spent trying not to have sex so that we wouldn’t ruin our business relationship because he’s super-duper hot,” Sia told the publication. “This year I wrote him a text, and I said, ‘Hey, listen, you’re like one of five people that I’m sexually attracted to, and now that I’ve decided to be single for the rest of my life and I just adopted a son, I don’t have time for a relationship,” Sia added. “If you’re interested in some no-strings sex, then hit me up.'”
While walking the Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday (January 26), Diplo caught up with PEOPLE and was asked about his friend’s revelation. The correspondent wanted to know if he’d taken Sia up on her offer, to which he playfully replied, “No comment” with a laugh. “I love her to death and value our relationship a lot more.”
Taking that as a negative, Diplo said he wasn’t aware that she was going to share that with the world. “But she’s a loose cannon, and she does whatever she wants,” he said. “Yeah, but she’s spontaneous and insane, so I love her for that.” Watch Diplo’s full clip below.
Tyler, The Creator Shows Just How "Petty" He Is By Retweeting Hater From 2011
This tweet aged pretty well.
It was a big night for Tyler, The Creator on Sunday (January 26) as the three-time Grammy-nominated artist took home his first win for Best Rap Album for Igor. Although he was favorited to win, he was up against noteworthy talents including Dreamville (Revenge of the Dreamers III), Meek Mill (Championships), 21 Savage (i am > i was), and YBN Cordae (The Lost Boy). He later tweeted, "YALL GON STOP COUNTING ME OUT!"

The 28-year-old artist also made sure to show just how petty he could be by revisiting a tweet that's nearly a decade old. Back in 2011, a Twitter user named Mark shaded Tyler by telling he was undeserving of a Grammy. "@fucktyler dont b too excited. u wont get one.....," the person wrote. Tyler retweeted the old jab with a new message of his own.
"I FAVORITED THIS 9 YEARS AGO JUST FOR THE MOMENT TO TELL YOU I GOT ONE," Tyler tweeted. "YES IM PETTY AS F*CK, GOOD DAY MARK." Noticing Tyler's response to the 2011 tweet, Mark replied, "Congrats ?." He also wrote, "So this is how celebrity Twitter mentions feel like? Lmao" and "Thank God I got a new phone or my Twitter would've crashed."
K-Pop Group BTS’ Microphones Sold For $83,000 At MusiCares Grammys Week Auction
That’s a lot of coin.
K-Pop supergroup BTS sold the microphones for all seven members from their Love Yourself tour at a MusiCares Grammy Week auction on Friday, and apparently, they were worth a lot. The mics sold for a whopping $83,000 in total, exceeding far and wide their pre-auction estimate of between $10,000 and $20,000. These were the first-ever auction items authorized to be sold by BTS. The boyband is set to hit the stage on Sunday night alongside Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo, and Mason Ramsay for a killer Grammys performance.
Another group that will be taking the stage at the award show are rock legends Aerosmith, who will perform with their former collaborator, Run DMC. Aerosmith were the honorees of MusiCares Person of the Year tribute this year, and they decided to donate some of their prized possessions to the auction as well. Steven Tyler autographed a Shure SM58 microphone as well as an accompanying white microphone stand covered in his signature scarves. The mic and stand nabbed $7,680, as did Joe Perry’s autographed Gibson Les Paul Signature guitar.
Other musicians also made incredible contributions to the auction. Tom Petty’s estate donated a limited-edition watch made from the leather of one of the late artist’s guitar straps, engraved with “Made with leather donated by Tom Petty.” It sold for over $22,000. Halsey’s artwork, which she made live during her SNL performance this Saturday, sold for $7,680. A Stevie Nicks-signed tambourine she had used on stage sold for $10,240, and Eddie Vedder’s ukulele covered in his own drawings went for $8,960. All proceeds from the auction went towards the Recording Academy’s MusiCares program, which provides health, financial, and rehabilitation resources to music people in times of need.

Chuck D Slams Grammys After New President Was Fired: "Same Old Bullsh*t"
Some believe Deborah Dugan was booted because she was trying to “effect change.”
Since their inception, award shows have always taken a few hits over their nominations. People criticize decision-makers for excluding artists and creators, accusing them of stifling growth and “white-washing” the ceremonies, and rap icon Chuck D is speaking out against his recent experiences with the Grammys.
Kevin Winter / Staff / Getty ImagesThe 62nd annual Grammy Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles at the Staple’s Center on January 26, and during the ceremony, Public Enemy is all set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The history between Hip Hop/Rap and the Grammys is a sordid tale, as the genre was initially excluded from airing live on television. Now, Grammy shows are overrun with its influence.
In a lengthy letter he shared on Instagram, Chuck D aired out his grievances with the Grammys after it was announced yesterday that they’ve fired their new president, Deborah Dugan. She reportedly only held the position for five months, and while there are rumors that she received the boot due to an “allegation of misconduct by a senior female member,” some believe that her quest for change behind-the-scenes proved too much for the status quo. In other words, she rocked the boat and got kicked to the curb.
Chuck D writes:
“Figures… I salute Deborah Dugan for her truth and courage to try and effect change. As always, a bunch of ignorant, testosterone-fueled, usually old white men stop progress and screw it up. Same old bullsh*t. They want to keep it status quo and make sure things like Hip Hop stay the poster child of their f*ckery.
In 1989 we protested the Grammys because they refused to acknowledge a new art form called Hip Hop/Rap. I responded with the lyric, “Who gives a f*ck about a goddamn Grammy.” We fought to be recognized and for things to change. We kicked that door in for others to come through.
After 35 years in this industry, folks should know that I always defer any individual accomplishment, always giving salutes to those before me and trying to open the door for those after me. In agreeing to accept the Lifetime Achievement Award when Deborah called me was no different.
We discussed these issues and what needed to change. Hip Hop can’t be judged by a bunch of old corporate guards who rewrite history to serve their corporate bottom line. The Public Enemy icon added that he could tell Dugan “was having her own struggles with an academy that thinks Public Enemy ended in 1992 yet want to give us a lifetime achievement award without acknowledging a lifetime of work.” Chuck D expressed how difficult it was to work with the Grammys during this time, and offered his suggestions as to why they were giving him the runaround while also attempting to salute Public Enemy’s accomplishments.
