Today is a huge day for gamers around the world. Sony is set to reveal the PlayStation 5 (PS5) for the first time during a major event this afternoon. As the anticipation builds, some people thought they uncovered the price of the gaming console on Amazon UK.
For a brief moment, the PS5 was listed on Amazon UK for $599.99. However, there appears to have been an internal mistake, forcing Amazon to make a statement.
"This was an error," says an Amazon spokesperson to IGN. This specific pricing mistake has been explained as "a dummy product with a dummy price."
The console was listed in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB models and a reported 118 listings were also available for games. Publishers like Konami, Bethesda, and Rockstar all had listings for unnamed games priced at a $10 increase from their usual retail prices.
The price of the PS5 has been rumored for a minute, with some reports that it carries a manufacturing price of $450. If we're lucky, we'll get ahold of all the details later today as the event is set to begin soon.
Will you be tuning in to hear all the announcements that Sony has in store for us today or are you sticking with another console?
Police Banned From Using Amazon’s Facial Recognition Technology For A Year
Amazon has officially banned all police officers from using their controversial facial recognition technology, Rekognition, for a whole year.
Amazon has prohibited police departments from using their controversial facial recognition technology, Rekognition, for a whole year until this software can be more properly regulated. The decision was announced on Wednesday, June 10th.
“We’ve advocated that governments should put in place stronger regulations to govern the ethical use of facial recognition technology, and in recent days, Congress appears ready to take on this challenge,” Amazon said in a statement. “We hope this one-year moratorium might give Congress enough time to implement appropriate rules, and we stand ready to help if requested.” Rekognition has been used by both police and ICE to help catch criminals and target or identify immigrants, respectively. However, the software has been subject to plenty of criticism for more frequently misidentifying Black and Asian people than white people.

Although Amazon hopes that a year will be enough time for Congress to develop and pass legislation that will regulate the use of this technology by law enforcement agencies, the American Civil Liberties Union is requesting that the ban be put in place indefinitely.
“It took two years for Amazon to get to this point, but we’re glad the company is finally recognizing the dangers face recognition poses to Black and Brown communities and civil rights more broadly,” said Nicole Ozer, the ACLU’s technology and civil liberties director. However, she notes that “this surveillance technology’s threat to our civil rights and civil liberties will not disappear in a year.”

Of course, police are not thrilled with this decision. “Amazon Rekognition has greatly increased the ability of our law enforcement officers to act quickly and decisively,” said Chris Adzima, an analyst at the Washington County Sheriff Office in Oregon. “We were able to index more than 300,000 photo records within 1-2 days, and the identification time of suspects went from 2-3 days down to minutes.”
Jeff Bezos Exposes Racist Bigot In His Emails
Jeff Bezos calls out an anti-Black Lives Matter racist in his emails, posting the message to Instagram.
Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, may not be the most beloved human on the planet. Lest we forget his treatment of his warehouse employees in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, choosing to take away hazard pay increases for his workers despite raising his net worth by $30 million during the outbreak. Still, it looks like he’s on the right side of the current battle against racism and police violence.
The Amazon founder shared a screenshot of an e-mail he received from an All Lives Matter supporter, calling them out and inviting them to shop elsewhere. He continued his recent trend of exposing racists in his e-mails by doing so again.

“There have been a number of sickening but not surprising responses in my inbox since my last post,” said Bezos, referring to his picture of an anti-BLM racist. “This sort of hate shouldn’t be allowed to hide in the shadows. It’s important to make it visible. This is just one example of the problem.”
His new post shows a message from a man named Dave, who claims his business relationship with Bezos is done after Amazon’s statement supporting Black Lives Matter.
“And, Dave, you’re the kind of customer I’m happy to lose,” wrote Bezos to close his message.

Jeff Bezos Responds To Amazon Customer’s Complaint About Black Lives Matter
Jeff Bezos issued a public response to an email he received from a customer complaining that the Amazon website had a Black Lives Matter banner.
Jeff Bezos is not budging on his belief that, yes, Black Lives DO Matter, no matter how outraged some Amazon customers may be about his stance. On Friday (June 5th), the certified richest man alive took to Instagram to issue a public response to an email he received from Macy, a woman who had recently visited the Amazon website and was disappointed to see a banner that read, “Black Lives Matter.”
In the email, Macy, whose last name has been omitted, begins her correspondence by indicting that she found it “quite disturbing to get on the AMAZON website and see ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER.'” She then explains why she finds this offensive. “You provide services to more than millions of people,” she noted. “Including my self and the rest of my family for our business needs and personal purchases. I am for everyone voicing their opinions and standing up for what you believe in, but for your company to blast this on your website is very offensive to me and I’m sure you’ll be hearing from others. ALL LIVES MATTER!”
She finished the email with a question for Jeff: “And if it wasn’t for all these lives providing their service to you and your company, where would Amazon be today?” Jeff shared his response in the next slide, which begins by telling Macy, “I have to disagree with you.”

“‘Black lives matter’ doesn’t mean other lives don’t matter,” he wrote. “Black lives matter speaks to racism and the disproportionate risk that Black people face in our law enforcement and justice system. I have a 20-year-old son, and I simply don’t worry that he might be choked to death while being detained one day. It’s not something I worry about. Black parents can’t say the same. None of this is intended to dismiss or minimize the very real worries you or anyone else might have in their own life, but I want you to know I support this movement that we see happening all around us, and my stance won’t change.”
He finished the post with a screenshot of the Amazon website, which includes a message that reads, “Amazon stands in solidarity with the Black community.”
Jeff Bezos On Pace To Become World’s First Trillionaire Because Of Coronavirus
People are outraged after learning that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is likely to become the world's first trillionaire.
Jeff Bezos has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. The Amazon owner has been under fire during the pandemic for his treatment of the company's warehouse employees and delivery drivers. His net worth reportedly grew by approximately $30 billion in the last two months, because of increased online orders during COVID-19, and he is poised to become the world's first trillionaire as a result.
Despite his obvious ability to keep Amazon running while being more than ethical to his employees, Bezos responded to his pandemic success by ending hazard pay increases for warehouse and delivery workers on the frontlines.
His name was trending on Twitter today and the vast majority of commenters are screaming "EAT THE RICH" as they reflect on Bezos' clear capitalist focus.

"This is immoral," said Elizabeth Warren in response to Bezos cutting his workers' hazard pay. "Here's unfettered capitalism at work," added Bernie Sanders.
As it stands, Jeff Bezos is looking to become a trillionaire before 2026.
Despite how this pandemic has ruined the economy, it's great to see that billionaire Jeff Bezos is doing better than ever. This is a reminder that nobody should be able to accumulate such wealth. Nobody needs a trillion dollars, for real.

Rihanna Documentary "Coming Soon" To Amazon, New Details Revealed
Rihanna's Peter Berg-directed documentary is "coming soon" to Amazon.
Rihanna will be gracing our screens up-close and personal before we know it, according to production company, Film 45. Back in December, it was reported that Rihanna had snagged a $25 million deal with Amazon for the rights to her new documentary, which will give viewers an in-depth look at the superstar's whirlwind life. Helmed by director Peter Berg, the documentary will be "coming soon" to Amazon according to Film 45's website, which includes some new details about the film.
The updates were first shared by a Rihanna News Twitter account, @TeamOfRihanna, on Friday. The user shared two screenshots: a photo of Rihanna recording in the studio, and a brief description of the documentary: "Coming soon: An inside look at the personal and professional life of Rihanna." According to the website, the film—or, more than likely, just the first instalment—will be called Rihanna: Volume One. The page dedicated to the Rihanna doc includes a lengthier synopsis: "Peter Berg’s bold and innovative Rihanna is an unfiltered look into Rihanna's life, providing a glimpse into the evolution of one of the world’s most well-known pop artists. With unparalleled access into the singer’s life and over 1200 hours of footage, the doc takes us on a journey through private insights into Rihanna’s personality and humor, philosophies on work, family and love that are both moving and inspirational."

Back in December, Berg spoke about the process of shooting the documentary, which he captured while travelling around Europe with Rihanna over the span of two years. "That was a fun change of pace," Berg said, "to go travel with Rihanna around Europe, and Rihanna is surrounded by girls. We were in Nice [France]. She was going to do a concert on Bastille Day. And that truck driver who killed all those people plowed through them right in front of our hotel. So even in me trying to do something light, I had a very, very front-row seat to something that horrific.” While there's no official release date as of yet, expect the doc to be available on Amazon "soon."
Amazon Delivery Driver Caught Peeing In The Driveway
An Amazon delivery man was captured on video urinating in the driveway after reportedly getting locked out of his van.
Amazon has a real problem when it comes to its delivery drivers leaving unwanted gifts around the crib.
Last week, we reported on a delivery driver who was captured on video spitting on somebody’s package before leaving it at the door. Now, a different man was representing the massive corporation when he delivered a parcel to the client’s door, walked back to his van, and urinated on the driveway.
In the driver’s defense, he appears to have gotten locked out of his vehicle, attempting to open the doors before realizing that he needed to call for help. While waiting for somebody to arrive, he seemingly could not wait any longer, deciding that the driveway was a good spot to relieve himself.

The footage was picked up by Ring, showing the delivery driver checking around to make sure nobody could see him before he adjusted his pants and got to work.
As TMZ points out, the homeowner likely would have been less inclined to allow the driver into their home to relieve himself because of the global pandemic we’re living through. However, he doesn’t appear to have asked if he could use their restroom, which results in an automatic L on his part.

Package-Spitting Amazon Delivery Man Officially Fired
After being caught red-handed while spitting a loogie onto an Amazon package, the disgraced delivery man has officially suffered the consequences.
In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which continues to ravage the United States, people have been living on edge as they await further developments. As such, tolerance for reckless or dangerous behavior has been met with nothing short of an iron-fisted response. Especially given the disturbing increase in bodily-fluid-related vandalism, as recently exhibited by a deplorable delivery worker who decided it would be a good idea to spit on a package and smear it for good measure. Unfortunately for the unidentified man, his disgusting act was caught on video surveillance.
Following a justifiable outrage across social media, TMZ reports that the company has since taken the wise course of action and fired the offending employee. Though he was not officially employed by Amazon, but rather delivering on their behalf through a third party, the report indicates that the sales giant was disgusted by the man’s conduct and moved to make sure his termination became a reality.
We’ve already seen serious legal charges being threatened upon anybody behaving in such a fashion. After deliberately coughing on $35k worth of produce at a grocery store, a woman is facing charges of terroristic threats. It’s unclear whether Amazon nor the company previously representing the disgraced deliveryman will be pursuing criminal charges, but one thing is certain — it’s going to be hard to explain the nature of his termination to the unemployment bureau.
Amazon Delivery Man Caught Spitting On Customer’s Package
An Amazon delivery man was caught by a home security camera spitting on a package and smearing the saliva on the box with his hand.
An Amazon delivery man may have just unknowingly committed a crime, as he was caught on a front door security camera spitting on a customer's package and smearing the saliva all over the box with his hand. As most of the world takes extra precautions to prevent spreading coronavirus, including incessant hand-washing and avoiding touching one's face or coughing without covering one's mouth, some people are just too shameless to care. In a video captured on Thursday evening at a duplex residence in L.A.'s Hancock Park neighbourhood, an Amazon delivery man is clearly shown leaning over and hucking saliva onto a package that he was in the processing of delivering, and proceeding to wipe his spit across the box with his palm. The vile man then gets up and takes a photo to confirm the delivery, as if nothing out of the ordinary had just occurred.
The reckless act was thankfully caught by security cameras at the residence's front door, and a neighbour and friend of the package recipient promptly contacted Amazon about the horrible incident. A customer service representative watched the footage and actually gasped in horror. They stated that the worker was from a third party delivery service and had been reported, but there's a chance he could still be sent back to work. The same neighbour also responded to the delivery inquiry on the Amazon app with a photo of the package, which clearly shows some sort of liquid smeared on it. “We have high standards for delivery service partners and expect every package to be handled with care," an Amazon spokesperson said. "We've notified the right teams internally and will work with the customer directly on matters related to their package delivery.”
Aaron P. Bernstein/Getty Images
While the act may be disgusting and inconsiderate, it's also verging on criminal during these particularly high risk times. Purposely spitting, licking, or coughing on public items or other people can be considered a low-level felony, as federal law enforcement officials have already charged individuals with making a terrorist threat for intentionally spreading coronavirus through this type of behaviour.
Doja Cat Drags Amazon’s Alexa On Roddy Ricch’s Behalf
Doja Cat went off on her Amazon Alexa for failing to play Roddy Ricch's "The Box," calling the device "f*cking useless."
Doja Cat has had it with her "useless" Amazon Alexa, after the voice-operated device failed to play Roddy Ricch's #1 hit, "The Box." Sometimes, the gadgets that were invented to make our lives easier end up making them ten times harder, and nobody knows that struggle more than Ms. Doja. The rapper found herself in the midst of a major "first world problem" during one of her many Instagram live sessions recently, after her Alexa was unable to follow her instructions. It appears as though Doja was already in the midst of dealing with Alexa's shortcomings when a clip from the live begins, as she tells her viewers to prepare themselves for the AI's incompetence.
"Hey Alexa...play 'The Box' by Roddy Ricch," she tells the device. "She doesn't know," she then quietly says to her phone screen. "She's f*cking useless. Watch." A silence follows, and Doja makes another attempt to play the chart-topping smash hit. "I can't find 'The Box' by Roddy Ricch," Alexa responds, much to Doja's frustration. "She's f*ckin' useless," she repeats. "She's so trash." Doja makes a third attempt at getting the song to play, but Alexa still can't seem to carry out her request. "Hmm, I don't know that one," Alexa tells her. "Oh, b*tch, you didn't even listen to the whole thing that I said," Doja exclaims, before explaining how she tragically "has to go through [her] whole phone to play music."

"I can't just tell her—that's the coolest feature and I can't even do that," she points out. We feel your pain Doja. It is a little peculiar, considering "The Box" has spent a whopping 11 weeks and counting at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. You'd think that Alexa would at least be familiar with the world-stopping hit.
