A police officer in Miami, who has been accused of racism and brutality against black citizens, is now claiming that he, himself is black, according to the Miami New Times.
“Well, I learned that there are people in my family that are mixed and that are black,” Ortiz said in front of a Miami City Commission held regarding alleged acts of racism against black employees at the Miami Police Department on January 17th.
Ortiz did admit that he wasn’t claiming equal blackness: “Oh, no, you’re blacker than me—that’s obvious,” Ortiz said. “And if you know anything about the one-drop rule, which started in the 20th Century, which is what identifies and defines what a black male is, or a Negro, you would know that if you have one drop of black in you, you’re considered black.”
Ortiz eventually went as far as to claim he was part Jewish as well.
Commissioner Joe Carollo responded to the room saying, "Mr. Ortiz claimed that he was, uh, black — now I hear he's Jewish-black. I'm afraid maybe next month he'd be a black Jewish woman. I don't know."
According to the Miami New Times, Ortiz once said 12-year-old Tamir Rice deserved to be killed by cops because he was acting like a "thug."

”Lee’s perspective is more valuable than ever. Cannes is a natural homeland and a global sounding board for those who (re)awaken minds and question our stances and fixed ideas,” the festival stated. Spike’s BlacKkKlansman took home a major prize at last year’s festival and many f his other movies have been screened at the annual event.
“When I got the call … I was shocked, happy, surprised and proud all at the same time,” Spike said of the milestone moment in his career.
“I’m honoured to be the first person of the African diaspora (USA) to be named president of the Cannes jury and of a main film festival. To me, the Cannes film festival (besides being the most important film festival in the world – no disrespect to anybody) has had a great impact on my film career. You could easily say Cannes changed the trajectory of who I became in world cinema.”
Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Cinder" Revealed: Release Details
2020 is a big year for the Yeezy brand.
Despite coming out nearly four years ago, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 hasn’t lost any of its momentum. Sure, it may not be the ultra-rare sneaker it once was but that doesn’t take away from just how dope it is. Throughout the course of this year, various 350 V2 colorways are expected to hit the market and we can’t wait to see what these drops entail.
According to Yeezy Mafia, one of the sneakers that’s on the way for 2020 is the 350 V2 in the “Cinder” colorway. As you can see from the images below, the “Cinder” model is exactly like the “Black Static” model except with one little difference. This particular has a gum bottom which is a trope Kanye West has been experimenting with on some of his newer Yeezy models. The gum bottom is a nice contrast to the black upper and will certainly make for another big hit amongst sneakerheads.
For now, these are slated to drop in the Spring of 2020 for $220 USD. Let us know in the comments below what you think of these and whether or not you plan on copping. Stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to provide any new information.
