Travis Scott and Kid Cudi formed a brand new group called THE SCOTTS last week and they're poised to go #1 with their first-ever single released as a duo.
The two rappers have teamed up in the past but their new single marks the beginning of an official partnership for THE SCOTTS. The group debuted their first single during Travis' Fortnite concert Astronomical last week. The record-breaking performance opened millions of eyes and, as a direct result, the track is likely to debut at the pole position of the Billboard Hot 100.

For weeks, The Weeknd has been ruling the chart with "Blinding Lights," re-gaining the top spot after Drake slipped one position with "Toosie Slide." Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa are both still sitting comfortably on the chart but they're expected to be knocked down a notch once THE SCOTTS debut next week.
According to Chart Data, one of the most reliable sources for information on music charts, "THE SCOTTS" is currently challenging for the #1 position on the Hot 100. Its competition is likely "Blinding Lights," which has been performing extraordinarily well for weeks.
The novelty of this group may help push Travis Scott and Kid Cudi to their next number one record. Do you think it'll happen? Stay tuned!
The Weeknd Reigns After Drake "Toosie Slide" Slides On Charts
The Weeknd “Blinding Lights” is back on top after Drake “Toosie Slide” drops down to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Once again, The Weeknd is a double champion, standing tall at #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200.
Drake made a huge splash on the Billboard Hot 100 with the release of “Toosie Slide,” his brand new dance single that has absolutely taken over on social media. While the buzz was large enough to remain within the Top Five in its second week out, The Weeknd regains his position at the top with “Blinding Lights.”
“Wow! back on top + number 1 album for a whole month? Going to really cherish this moment,” said The Weeknd on Instagram.
In addition to his hit single being crowned the week’s most popular song again, his album After Hours has been at the top of the charts for an entire month. Ironically, he becomes the first artist since Drake to notch four consecutive weeks at #1 with Scorpion.
“Big shout out to the fans. Can’t wait to see you all once we get through these bizarre times,” continues the artist.
Drake’s “Toosie Slide” clocks in at the second position while Roddy Ricch keeps his momentum high at #3. Dua Lipa and Doja Cat round out the Top Five with appearances from Harry Styles, Post Malone, and others in the top ten spots.
Are you surprised to see The Weeknd back on top?
The Weeknd Dethrones Roddy Ricch With New #1 Song
Roddy Ricch "The Box" has been bumped by The Weeknd "Blinding Lights" as the Number One song on the Billboard Hot 100.
We thought the moment would never come but Roddy Ricch is officially no longer at the pole position of the Billboard Hot 100. Replacing him at the top is The Weeknd.
After After Hours debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200, it was announced that The Weeknd would be pulling double duties as "Blinding Lights" was also crowned at the forefront of the Billboard Hot 100. This ends Roddy Ricch's eleven-week run with the No. 1 song in the country, moving "The Box" to the runner-up spot as Abel Tesfaye enjoys his fifth-ever chart-topping single.
With this accomplishment, The Weeknd also becomes the only artist to earn new No. 1 singles in the 2010s and 2020s.
Elsewhere on the chart, Dua Lipa was knocked down to No. 3 with "Don't Start Now." The Weeknd's "Heartless" was pushed back up twelve spots to No. 4 and Post Malone's "Circles" closes out the Top Five. Future and Drake's "Life Is Good" finishes just outside of the Top Five and Doja Cat earns her first-ever Top Ten single with "Say So."
Roddy Ricch "The Box" became the third solo rap song to spend over ten weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, giving the Compton rapper a spot in history. While another week would have been sweet, The Weeknd is shining through and through right now. It was only right for "Blinding Lights" to earn that position on the tally.
The Weeknd Teases "After Hours" Short Film Dropping Today
The Weeknd shared a brief trailer for a short film documenting his current “After Hours” era, and announced that it will be dropping today.
The Weeknd shared a teaser for a short film titled After Hours, announcing that it will be dropping today. It appears as though the film, which bears the same name as The Weeknd’s upcoming album dropping on March 20th, will follow his journey over the past few months as he navigates his current musical revival. The brief trailer features shots of The Weeknd donning his signature “After Hours” era outfit while one of the album’s singles, “Blinding Lights,” plays sporadically.
One of the clips near the end of the teaser shows Jimmy Kimmel shaking The Weeknd’s hand following his performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in January. “That was great, thank you so much,” Jimmy says to him. “The Weeknd, everybody!” he exclaims to the crowd. Despite the seemingly positive energy of the post-performance moment, the trailer cuts to a close-up shot of The Weeknd looking concerned and in shock, setting the tone for what’s sure to be a wild ride of a film.
The superstar has been a very busy man since kicking off his current era, and he’s showing no signs of stopping. The After Hours album will drop in just a few weeks following the release of the short film today, and to support the project, The Weeknd has announced that he’ll be hitting the road. He’ll kick off the tour on June 11th in Vancouver, traveling around Canada and the United States for a few months. After a quick break in September, the After Hours tour will pick up again on October 11th in London, after which The Weeknd will make several stops around the UK and Europe. He’s definitely got a lot to look forward to, and, luckily, so do we.
The Weeknd Talks "Off-And-On Relationship" With Drugs & New Album Persona
The Weeknd discusses “After Hours” album in new cover story for CR Men.
Abel Tesfaye has built a strong mythology around The Weeknd. While he has become an international pop sensation, he has also somehow remained a shadowy figure – someone you can easily picture slumped in a dark lounge, surrounded by beautiful women, yet still consumed in his own melancholy. His early music created this mystique and traces of it still seep into his new releases. In his cover story for CR Men Issue 10, The Weeknd discusses whether the Trilogy era is still an accurate depiction of himself today and whether his forthcoming album, After Hours, will continue this lineage.
Drug use has been a major theme in The Weeknd’s songs (see his hit, “I Can’t Feel My Face”) and CR Men asked whether the singer is still leading a narcotic-filled lifestyle. “I have an off-and-on relationship with it,” he said. “It doesn’t consume my life but occasionally helps me open up my mind, especially when I’m creating, but when I perform I’m completely sober and try not to even drink. I’ve learned to balance thanks to touring.”
Even if coke lines aren’t as prominent on his new project, the chaotic energy is still there. If you’ve seen the music videos for After Hours’ first two singles, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”, you are familiar with the manic persona that The Weeknd has been portraying for this rollout. “[‘Heartless’] was the first song I wrote after that album [My Dear Melancholy], so it felt fitting for me to put it out…I play a character in the video who becomes compromised and then overcompensates with all the sins that Vegas provides. It’s a great introduction to the next chapter of my life.” He divulged some more info on his imminent album. “I feel confident with where I’m taking this [new] record. There’s also a very committed vision and character being portrayed and I get to explore a different side of me that my fans have never seen.”
The Weeknd Shares "After Hours" Album Cover, New Single Out Tonight
The Weeknd shares the “After Hours” album cover and announces that its title track will arrive later tonight.
After leaving his fans under the impression that his next album would be titled “Chapter VI” for some time, The Weeknd revealed last week that we actually have After Hours on the way. Regardless of what the project may be called, people were still left itching for a release date. There was speculation that it would drop shortly after that announcement to coincide with the Toronto crooner’s birthday on February 16. Well, it’s now the 18th and the album is still M.I.A. and its release window remains a mystery.

We now have more reason to believe that After Hours is not too far away. The Weeknd just shared its cover art, which tends to be one of the final stages of a rollout. The cover is a headshot of the character that Abel has been embodying for the project’s promo so far, all bloodied as he has appeared in the manic music videos for its first two singles, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”. This reveal comes along with some more info: “Heartless” will serve as Track 7 and “Blinding Lights” will serve as Track 9. The total length of the tracklist is still unknown.
We will also be getting Track 13 of After Hours tonight, which will be the album’s title track. We don’t know whether it will be a midnight release or earlier, but stay tuned. After Hours is on the horizon. What do you think of the cover?
The Weeknd Isn’t Here For Your "Blinding Lights" Period Jokes
The Weeknd is a little grossed out.
We hailed The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” video as one of his best visual displays ever but some of his fans aren’t quite able to see through all the blood that appears in the clip. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s A LOT of blood gracing the face of the Canadian superstar, who gets into a fight and walks throughout the city with his visage a dark shade of crimson. People have been cracking jokes about one particular instance in the video, where The Weeknd maniacally laughs with dark red liquid dripping from his mouth. Of course, there are a few fans bringing “that time of the month” into question but Abel isn’t too keen on imagining that picture in his head.
“Him: you’re extra wet tonight huh *turns on the lights*,” captioned one fan on a video of The Weeknd laughing with blood covering his mouth. Surprisingly enough, the recording artist actually commented back to the oral sex joke, dropping a singular “unimpressed” emoji and leaving it at that. Clearly, he expects more from his audience.
If you haven’t watched the video for “Blinding Lights” yet, do yourself a favor and check it out here. It will likely end up as one of the best music videos of the entire year.
The Weeknd Teases Fans With Still From Brand New Music Video

The visual for "Heartless" has already been released and now, fans are waiting for the "Blinding Lights" music video.
Recently, the Canadian singer took to Twitter and Instagram with an image of himself and a woman with the caption "tomorrow." Based on his other Instagram posts, it appears as though the singer is gearing up to release a music video and fans are extremely excited.
It remains to be seen what this video is for, exactly. Of course, the most likely option is that it's specifically for "Blinding Lights."
