"I do have to take responsibility here. I've been coming to grips with my own brokenness in this situation, my own failures, my own shortcomings," he told the crowd. "And I know there needs to be deep-seated, structural reform in terms of how the department operates. The systemic racist system needs to be revamped. The police union needs to be put in its place."
Attempting to weed out platitudes from actions, a protester prompted Frey with a question: "Will you commit to defunding the Minneapolis Police Department?" she asked. "We don't want people with guns toting around in our community shooting us down. It is a yes or a no. Will you defund the Minneapolis Police Department? It's important we hear this, 'cause if y'all don't know, he's up for re-election next year. And if he says 'no,' guess what the fuck we're going to do next year?"
Frey wouldn't commit to defunding: "I do not support the full abolition at the police department," he said, as he was met with boos.

Live Concerts Returning Sooner Than Expected, But There’s A Catch
Live Nation is implementing new social distancing measures, including cutting venue capacity by 80%, in order to bring back the live concert experience.
Live Nation is planning to bring back in-the-flesh concert experiences, but they’ve implemented tons of social distancing measures in order to keep attendees, artists, and everyone in between safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. It was reported by Yahoo Finance on Wednesday (May 6th) that Live Nation plans to cut venue capacity by 80% for future concert events. Additionally, audience members will be placed at least 2-12 seats apart in order to remain six feet apart minimum at all times. It will also be required for everyone to wear a mask at all times, and have their temperature checked at each entry point. Venues will be completely sanitized using fog sprayers, bathrooms will be limited to ten people at a time, and soap and paper towel dispensers will be contactless.

The event promoter is testing out this new approach with its first official socially distanced concert. Travis McCready, the frontman of country-rock band Bishop Gunn, is set to play a show in Fort Smith, Arkansas, next Friday (May 15th), with all the aforementioned safety measures in place. As indicated, the venue capacity will be cut by 80%, from 1100 to 229 permitted attendees. Depending on how successful this particular event proves to be in terms of reducing coronavirus exposure and providing a worthwhile concert experience, more artists may be able to start performing live once again.
DaBaby Publicly Apologizes For Slapping Woman At Afterparty
DaBaby reminds fans to respect his space while apologizing to woman he slapped and offering to meet her in person.
This morning, many awoke to see that a video was circulating of yet another instance of DaBaby being violent, but this time, it was towards a woman. The footage showed DaBaby passing through an afterparty crowd at Tampa, Florida nightclub Whiskey North, when he was hit in the face by a woman’s phone who was recording him with flash. The Charlotte rapper turned around and quickly retaliated by slapping her. Now, DaBaby has awoken and offered an apology for the incident that is drawing serious backlash.
Before going to sleep, DaBaby was insistent on having the woman identified and obtaining an alternate angle of the altercation in order for his lawyer to get “active.” However, now that some time has passed, he appears to be more remorseful. In a series of Instagram Stories shot in his bed, DaBaby provided his side of the story, apologizing for what he did while explaining his aggressive reaction.
He started his apology by shining a phone light on the camera lens of the other phone he was recording his IG Stories on, seemingly in an attempt to prove a point about its blinding capacity or the irritation it can cause. “I do sincerely apologize,” he said. “I do. I’m very sorry that there was a female on the other end of that flashlight on their phone… But you know, keep in mind, I couldn’t see you because you got the flash this close to me. Which is OK, it’s no problem… But fans—how many people know how to zoom in? Just zoom in instead of popping me in the motherfuckin’ eye with the phone. But I do apologize that there was a female on the other end… I think by this time, you know it’s a well known fact that male or female, I would’ve responded the same exact way.”
He requested for fans to treat him with the same respect that he instructs his security to treat them with. The major takeaway from this event that he imparted was: “Move gracefully.” He ended by inviting the woman he slapped to be “flewed out” to meet him in person, so they can have an “adult conversation” and he can apologize face-to-face.
DaBaby Appears To Slap Woman In Video, Offers $10k For Alternate Footage
A video appears to show DaBaby slapping a woman after she hit him in the face with her phone.
After being let off the hook for a battery charge earlier this week for a January incident involving a party promoter, DaBaby may be facing another one in the near future. A video is starting to circulate online of DaBaby seemingly slapping a woman and he has already commented on the altercation.
The footage from Saturday night (Mar. 8) shows DaBaby wading through a packed crowd at a nightclub, where he was hosting an afterparty event. A woman is filming DaBaby with the flash on as he passes by and then her phone is seeing making direct contact with his face. DaBaby, with a hat on and the hood of his winter jacket on his head, quickly spins around and appears to slap the woman across the face before continuing through the crowd. A woman is heard letting out a scream right after the slap and then a few seconds later, someone shouts "Get the fuck outta here." This whole incident seems to have been filmed by another club patron who was standing on the second floor.
Since this footage was taken from above, DaBaby has requested for an alternate angle that may absolve him of culpability if this were to be taken to court. However, it appears he isn't going to only be playing defence - he might be pressing charges himself. "I got $10,000 for whoever got a good angle of shawty hitting me in my eye with her phone," the Charlotte rapper said on his Instagram Story as he focused his camera on his eye. He asked to be tagged in the alternate footage and then shared the viral clip with the message, "Who know shawty government name so my lawyer can get active?"

Drake Surprises Crowd At Post Malone Concert In Toronto
Drake made a surprise appearance at Post Malone’s concert in Toronto on Valentine’s Day, in which he called Post “one of the greatest human beings.”
Drake took the stage at Post Malone‘s Toronto show on Valentine’s Day and surprised the crowd, before he declared that Post is “one of the greatest human beings.” As part of his Runaway tour to promote his Hollywood’s Bleeding album, Post Malone made a stop in Toronto, the hometown of self-proclaimed 6God, Drake. Post surprised the crowd by bringing the local legend on stage at the Scotiabank Arena to perform his hits, “Money In The Grave” and “Life Is Good.”
Drake had some particularly kind words for his buddy after his set. “I just wanna let you know,” he said to Post, “in front of all these beautiful people from the greatest city in the world: this is one of the greatest human beings you will ever encounter in your life. I love you.” He also said that the two of them “should go on tour together.” We can only dream.

In the spirit of spreading the love, Drake made a mini speech about Valentine’s Day and acknowledged all the singletons in the room. It has been rumoured that Drake may not consider himself to be part of that population, as he was recently spotted kissing supermodel Imaan Hamman before leaving her apartment in New York City.
