Derek Chauvin is a name everyone in the United States knows now as he is the man who was caught on camera killing George Floyd. Chauvin's actions have sparked protests all throughout the country as people are hoping for answers and a change to the system. As it stands, Chauvin is facing second-degree, third-degree, and manslaughter charges that could effectively put him in jail for the rest of his life.
In a Twitter thread posted by Danny Rivero on Friday, it was revealed that Chauvin has a history of illegally voting in US elections. During the 2016 and 2018 elections, Chauvin reportedly voted in Florida despite claiming residence and paying taxes in Minnesota. While he had a home in Orange County Florida, he technically isn't allowed to vote there. This is a third-degree felony and can lead to significant jail time.
While it hasn't been determined whether or not Chauvin will face charges for these allegations, it just goes to show that some people truly believe they are above the law. President Donald Trump has been accusing Democrat voters of voter fraud but as it turns out, Republicans are just as susceptible to breaking the country's strict laws.

A nerf gun gets you a felony these days.

Carpenter says that she waited 217 days to have the Class 5 felony charge of menacing expunged from Gavin’s record before coming forward with her story.
As reported by Fox News 21, On July 24, Gavin and his friend were playing outside his grandparent’s house before a planned sleepover that night. The two kids began to play with orange-tipped nerf guns, aiming at cars and pretending to play Fortnite. One driver became so irate that he turned around and returned to scold the kids. The interaction was captured on the grandparent’s Ring system.
The enraged driver called the police on Gavin and his friend which led to Gavin being cuffed and placed into the back of a cop car before his parents arrived. “They came back over, told me my rights, and told me what was going to happen. They put handcuffs on me, and I got into the car,” 10-year-old Gavin Carpenter said.
The El Paso County Sheriff refused to drop the felony menacing charge, “It was just a hard no, that the District Attorney wasn’t going to throw this out,” Gavin’s father Chris stated. “That is when we moved into the diversion program.” The diversion program is much like probation, which meant Gavin had to complete community service, write an essay, and complete various tasks before the expunge occurred.
Vic Mensa Dodges Felony But Still Faces Possession Of Brass Knuckles
Vic still faces jail time.
Back in January 2020, Vic Mensa was charged with felony possession of brass knuckles. The incident was an accident on Vic’s part, since many states do not ban brass knuckles. They are illegal in California though, which Vic learned the hard way. The young rapper was pulled over by police in Glendale for allegedly making an unsafe turn. After being searched by law enforcement, the officers found the brass knuckles in Vic’s pocket. He was charged with felony brass knuckle possession and arrested at the time with a $20,000 bond. Now, the rapper is getting a little bit of good luck as far as sentencing goes.
TMZ is now reporting that Vic has avoided the felony charge. According to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office, Vic will not be charged a felony, but he will be charged with possession of brass knuckles. He is facing up to a year in county jail if he is convicted. Vic has entered a charge of not guilty, so he is aiming to beat the case. There used to be a loophole in California law that allowed those in possession of other hard knuckles to get off, but that has since been fixed. We wish Vic the best in beating the charge.

Vic Mensa Arrested For Felony Possession of Brass Knuckles In California: Report
Who knew they were illegal in Cali?
Vic Mensa has reportedly been arrested for a very unusual reason. According to TMZ, the punk-rock rapper allegedly discovered he was unknowingly breaking California law earlier this month, when he was charged with felony possession of…brass knuckles? Vic was cruising around on his motorcycle in Glendale when a police officer noticed him supposedly making an unsafe turn. According to law enforcement sources, the officer pulled him over and proceeded to pat him down to inspect his person. The officer then found the brass knuckles in Vic’s pants pocket.
It may seem unusual that these “fist-load weapons” are banned in California, considering they’re legal for self-defense circumstances in most states. While Vic managed to avoid getting ticketed for his alleged unsafe turn, he definitely got the short end of the stick when he was booked under the felony charge of possessing brass knuckles. He was later released after posting a $20,000 bond.

Vic caused caused quite the controversy last month following the death of Chicago rapper, Juice WRLD, when he claimed that a culture of glorifying drug use in rap music was too blame for the young artist’s devastating passing. Vic asserted that the older hip hop generation has a responsibility to promote positivity to the younger generation, in order to avoid tragedies like Juice WRLD.
