Lil Wayne Explains His Comments on George Floyd That Rubbed So Many The Wrong Way
During an interview with Fat Joe, Lil Wayne made comments about the killing of George Floyd that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
"What I mean by that is we have to stop viewing it with such a broad view, meaning we have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge," Wayne said. "We have to actually get into who that person is. And if we want to place the blame on anybody, it should be ourselves for not doing more than what we think we're doing."
Wayne then added wasn't down with activism by Tweet or T-Shirt.
On Tonight's episode of Young Money radio with Killer Mike, Wayne revisited and explained those comments.
"I respect the effort of the people to seek justice and what they doin'. I just knew it was time for more action than a tweet. Also, my mama always told me—I sat in the passenger seat getting picked up from school every day and dropped off. I would look outside that window in the 'hood, so you gon' see situations when you riding home. I might make a comment or give my opinion on what I just saw.
"'Mind you f*ckin' business,'" his mom would tell him, giving him a smack. "Mind your business. You don't even ask, 'Why you smack me? Why I need to mind my business?' But you know one thing, I need to mind my damn business. So, for folks out there that figure that whatever, Wayne gon' say this or... Listen. I'm from New Orleans, understand. I'm from New Orleans where, what we're seeing ladies and gentlemen around the world finally because [of] the cameraphones and all that, baby, we went through that every day. We saw that, we went through that every week. We gave police names, just cause of who they were and how they were, and we got used to that... That was the system. That's what I grew up in. So, don't blame me, don't fault me. But if you do, you already know."
Do you now better see where Wayne is coming from?
Freddie Gibbs Mocks LL Cool J’s George Floyd Freestyle
LL Cool J doesn't rap much these days. Freddie Gibbs thinks he should keep it that way.
The legend dropped a freestyle honoring George Floyd and Black Lives Matter yesterday.
"For 400 years you've had you're knees on our neck/ A garden of evil with no seeds of respect/In America's mirror all she sees is regret/Instead of letting blood live they begging for blood let," raps an angry Cool James.
While a lot of folks liked the 52-year old's emotional bars, Gibbs mocked him on social.
"Weak a$$ bars n*gga," Gibbs typed "This n*gga a cop."
Some folks are saying Gibbs -- whose album Alfredo with the Alchemist dropped Friday -- is still sore at LL for his notorious 2013 "Accidental Racist" track with country star Brad Paisley.
What do you think about Cool J's latest effort and why do you think Gibbs is going after him so?
Lakeith Stanfield Smacks Lil Wayne For His Words On George Floyd
Lil Wayne has a history of making controversial statements about race and police brutality, so it was no big surprise he said some provocative things about the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minnesota police.

"I think when we see these situations, I think we also have to understand that we have to get very specific. ... And what I mean by that is we have to stop viewing it with such a broad view, meaning we have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge," Wayne said during a discussion with Fat Joe. "We have to actually get into who that person is. And if we want to place the blame on anybody, it should be ourselves for not doing more than what we think we're doing."
Wayne also criticized those who think Tweeting something is taking action.
"Some people put a tweet out and they think they did something. Some people wear a shirt and they think they did something," Wayne explained. "What you gonna do after that? Did you actually help the person? Did you actually help the family? Did you actually go out there and do something? So, if I ain't about to do all that, then I ain't about to do nothing. I'll pray for ya."
Atlanta star Lakeith Stanfield was among those who don't want to hear it from Wayne.
"Wayne STFU," he typed under a vintage photo of police protests.
Here's some more reaction.

Lil Wayne is 100% correct and people want to act like he's not because they'd rather be emotional than logically. https://t.co/Vh6i6pu5Gu

While most folks would find such a father-daughter display charming, Boosie Badazz, not so much.
He famously ranted on the ex NBA star after learning of Zaya's transition.
"I gotta say something about this. Dwayne Wade, you've gone too f*cking far, dog. That is a male. A 12 year old. At 12, they don't even know what they next meal gonna be. They don't have sh!t figured out yet. He might meet a woman at 16 and fall in love with her. But his d*ck be gone, how you gonna."
When the backlash to his comments came, Boosie said he has nothing to apologize for. He has also been in a bad mood lately. So he should probably stay off Twitter, where Dwyane and Zaya are trending for their matching 'dos.

Lil Baby has Spotted "Jim Jones" Working at Lowe’s
If you're wondering what Jim Jones actually does these days, Lil Baby has an idea
The Atlanta rapper was able to reveal his opinion of what Capo does for employment when Waka Flocka posted a photo of a Lowe's employee speaking to a customer who appeared to have a plastic bedding case on her head.
While some folks focused on the woman's comic amount of protection, Baby noticed the Lowe's worker looked familiar.

"@Jim jonescapo," Baby typed, botching his attempt to @ Capo.
Do you see the resemblance? Maybe this is how Jones is paying for his gym membership.
Armed Men Give Young Chop 24 Hours To Leave Atlanta Or Else
Young Chop has been beefing with everyone on social media lately and it got him into trouble.
The Chicago music producer was recently arrested for his antics, and his Uber was shot up while he was riding in the back seat.
Now, he is being asked to leave Atlanta, or else.
CEO of Swipe Records and Atlanta native SWIPEGod RR (Realy Rich) took to social media yesterday to warn Chop it he didn't leave within 24 hours, they would make him go viral.
The videos that SWIPEGod and his crew uploaded showed them holding numerous weapons, and they made it clear that they are making money.
Chop got wind of the videos, and responded, laughing at the claims and telling SWIPEGod to pull up.
As of now, it's been 24 hours, and Chop is still around acting recklessly on Instagram.
