Things got a little heated over on Twitter today (June 9) between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. Boxer Ryan Garcia has had a growing frustration with Golden Boy and streaming service DAZN over how things have been moving behind the scenes. Garcia has been sharing that he's secured his next fight date a for July 4, however, Golden Boy still hasn't mustered up an opponent in this post-COVID-19 lockdown era. Sports Illustrated reports that the July date is now a thing of the past, and Garcia has lamented that he's not being compensated financially the way he deserves.

“That’s bullsh*t,” Garcia said of his $200K offer to fight. “Why am I being held back financially? What is the problem here? Why is DAZN giving out big numbers to guys fighting nobodies? It’s f*cked up how I’m being treated. I’m not asking for $100 million. Just give me the check I deserve. How am I one of the biggest fighters in the world and I get bigger paychecks outside of boxing?”
Gervonta Davis saw a tweet about the above quote by Garcia and poked fun at his fellow boxer. "???????? 200k?????? He need that money back from him buying that Ferrari...stop trying to keep up broke boy! ???." Ryan Garcia clapped back at Davis by replying, "Yeah I get endorsement deals outside of boxing, something you don’t know about bc you hit woman."
Garcia was bringing up the recent charges made against Davis following a recorded incident that showed the boxer man-handling his ex. "And it still don’t add up what I’m getting paid...Mr ✌????? uh occasion," Davis responded. Check it out below.
Gervonta Davis’s Ex Dretta Talks Co-Parenting After Physical Confrontation
Grevonta Davis's ex-girlfriend Dretta Smothers answered a fan who wanted to know what it was like co-parenting with the boxer following their controversial incident.
For the first time since the controversial video showing Gervonta Davis grabbing her by the collar circulated on social media, the mother of his daughter, Dretta Smothers, has commented about the situation. Grevonta Davis was caught up in a scandal earlier this year after a video was shared to social media showing him arguing with Dretta at a charity basketball game. The champion fighter can be seen grabbing her by the shirt and then in another clip, the argument continues backstage.
Gervonta Davis was met with accusations of domestic violence—allegations that he denied, saying he "never once hit her." However, the boxer was arrested and was hit with battery and domestic violence charges. Now, Dretta took to her Instagram Story to address the controversy after a fan asked her how she's been able to co-parent with Gervonta following the incident.
“Recovery is a process but it’s a WONDERFUL feeling," Dretta wrote. "Cyber Sisters it’s important to be SELFISH w/self and give yourself as much time as needed….. Putting your feelings and emotions to the side to assure your kid/kids have a healthy childhood is a 'SuperMom characteristic' and I am a SuperMom! Kids are innocent and none the less the main PRIORITY and that’s all that matters to me. Last but not least PRAYER…..<3" Check it out below.
Gervonta Davis Shows Off New Corvette After Calling Moneybagg Yo’s "Middle Class"
Gervonta Davis had previously deemed Corvettes “middle class” right after Moneybagg Yo copped one, but it looks like the boxer has had a change of heart.
Gervonta Davis appears to have shifted his preferences when it comes to luxury sports cars. The boxer recently showed off his new white Chevrolet Corvette on his Instagram story, less than a month after dragging the whip and calling it “middle class.” “Grrrrrr something else on its way..MC,” he wrote on the clip of his new ride sitting pretty in the parking lot. While this could simply be chalked up to a simple change of heart, his comments were particularly loaded at the time, since Moneybagg Yo—Gervonta’s ex Ari Fletcher’s new man—had posted about his new Corvette mere hours earlier.
On April 16th, Moneybagg shared some photos of his new red whip, which seemed to prompt a subliminal response from Gervonta on Twitter. “Can’t do the corvette,” the boxer tweeted. “Middle class.” Moneybagg proceeded to respond indirectly on his own account, tweeting, “If you got any kinda smoke wit me deal wit me on some street shit no internet please.” He followed up this tweet by noting, “N*ggas be lame asf mad about b*tches.” Gervonta feigned his innocence in a reply to another user, claiming that his initial tweet had nothing to do with Moneybagg. “Never gotta shade nobody baby,” he wrote. “I’m talking about my preference.”

This was not the first time that Gervonta had shaded Moneybagg due to his associations with Ari. Back in January, the boxer posted a photo of him and his date sitting courtside at a Lakers game, which received some hateful comments from trolls trying to diss him about his ex. “ARI & MONEY BAG YO LOOKS BETTER,” one comment read, to which Gervonta replied, “I’m richer what now.”
Moneybagg Yo & Gervonta Davis Trade Pot Shots On Social Media
Moneybagg Yo & Gervonta Davis have their Twitter fingers game locked down as they sub-tweeted each other.
Aside from the obvious fact that they’ve been with the same woman, it’s unclear why Gervonta Davis and Moneybagg Yo have lingering beef. The rapper’s current girlfriend Ari Fletcher once called Gervonta Davis her man, but both parties of the former couple have seemed to have moved on. However, Gervonta and Moneybagg have popped up on social media trading verbal jabs and things intensified on Thursday (April 16).
In January, an internet troll got Gervonta hot under the collar after they told the boxer that Ari and Moneybagg Yo were a better-looking couple. Gervonta responded, “I’m richer what now ?.” Today, Moneybagg shared a photo of himself posing with a red Corvette. It seemed innocent enough, but Gervonta also tweeted, “Can’t do the corvette..middle class.”
Without directly addressing the boxer, Moneybogg added that if someone has a problem with him, they can “deal wit me on some street sh*t no internet please.” He added, “N*ggas be lame asf mad about b*tches” along with laughing emojis. Someone called out Gervonta and accused him of being shady. He responded by saying he was just letting his preferences be known.
