Throughout Kobe Bryant's career, he was able to inspire numerous young players, including those who would eventually find themselves in the NBA. One of the league's stars who has always paid homage to Kobe is none other than Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson. Since Kobe's death, Thompson has shared various throwback photos of Kobe and has even shared some personal anecdotes of things Kobe was able to teach him while he was alive.
Today on his Instagram story, Thompson showed off a copy of Kobe's book The Mamba Mentality: How I Play. The book came out back in 2018 and Thompson had his very own personalized copy that came with Bryant's signature. On the inside of the book, the message was simple: "To Klay, Rings Rings Rings Rings."
Kobe was able to win five championships during his time in the NBA and so far, Klay Thompson has three of his own. Both of these players know what it takes in order to win a championship and it's cool to see Kobe bestow these simple words upon a fellow competitor.
We're sure Thompson cherishes that book with all of his heart considering the events of the last few months. If there is one thing for sure, it's that Kobe is one of the most influential players to step on the court.
Klay Thompson Declares Kobe Bryant The GOAT In Throwback Post
Klay Thompson was feeling nostalgic recently with this Kobe Bryant throwback photo.
Kobe Bryant is undeniably one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. Unfortunately, Bryant passed away almost four months ago in a tragic helicopter accident that claimed the life of his daughter and seven others. Since then, numerous NBA players have posted tributes in Kobe’s honor and it has become abundantly clear that Bryant’s legacy will live on well past this current generation of players.
Just yesterday, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson took to Instagram with a small tribute to Kobe. As you can see from the post below, Thompson reminisced about a Kobe skills camp he got to attend while he was in high school. In the post, Thompson makes sure to let people know that Kobe is the greatest of all time.
“One of the greatest experiences of my life was being able to participate in the goats ? skills academy back in HS,” Thompson wrote. “I was so star struck the whole time and couldn’t believe I was on the same hardwood as Bean.”
Clearly, the skills camp worked out quite well for Thompson as he has blossomed into one of the best shooters in the NBA. Kobe would certainly be proud to see him on the court right now.
Klay Thompson’s ACL Recovery Is The Subject Of New Documentary
Klay Thompson has had a long road to recovery following his ACL injury.
During Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson of the Warriors ended up tearing his ACL which cost his team a shot at the title. It was expected that Thompson would miss all of this season with the injury and that timeline still rings true, despite the NBA shutdown. ACL injuries are no joke and can take months of rehab before you get back to normal.
Now, Thompson’s recovery will actually be the subject of a brand new documentary from Kaiser Permanente. This documentary is being called “Above The Waves” and will look at Thompson’s physical recovery as well as mental recovery. Going through these injuries can weight heavily on a player’s psyche and it looks like Thompson is ready to tell that story.
Both Thompson and Steph Curry have been injured for large chunks of time this season and the Warriors are last place in the entire NBA as a result. While this documentary will give fans some insight into Thompson’s lie since the injury, it will also provide some hope that Thompson will be his normal self when he gets back.
By next season, we should be seeing the “Splash Brothers” back at 100 percent capacity. Even if you hate the Warriors, you can’t help but be happy to welcome Thompson back to the court.
Klay Thompson’s ACL Rehab Slows To A Crawl Over NBA Shutdown
Klay Thompson will have limited access to rehab facilities due to the Coronavirus shutdown of the NBA.
Klay Thompson was having a quiet season with the Golden State Warriors as his ACL injury has kept him off of the court. In fact, Thompson was destined to sit out the entire season and use the time to rehabilitate his leg. Now, the NBA has completely shutdown due to the Coronavirus which is having a huge impact on Thompson and his ability to get healthy.
In a report from Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Warriors president Bob Myers noted that Thompson and numerous other players don’t have adequate facilities at their homes which means they are stuck. There will be options for players to have a trainer show up privately to their home although these efforts only go so far.

“Yes, it’s hard,” Myers said. “Privately, by himself. Maybe with one of our trainers individually at his house. Even my own hip surgery recovery, anything you can do without interacting with somebody. … If you don’t have your own gym (in your house), there’s not really anywhere to go. Most guys don’t have a basketball gym in their house. They might have a weight room.”
For now, Warriors players will not be tested for the Coronavirus as they want to make sure regular people have access to the limited test kits that are out there right now. This is a virus that could play out over the next few months so it’s important everyone stays vigilant.
Klay Thompson Sends Message To Warriors Fans Amid Horrific Year
Klay Thompson has been out with an injury this season and the Warriors have struggled in his absence.
Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have been a match made in heaven over the last few years. Thompson, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and even Kevin Durant helped propel the franchise to three NBA titles in the span of five seasons. This season has been a rough reminder of just how important it is to have your star players in the lineup. Thompson has been out all season with an ACL injury while Curry is gone with a broken hand. In their absence, the Warriors have been awful and boast the worst record in the entire NBA.
Despite this, some fans are remaining optimistic that the team can get back to its winning ways once their stars are healthy. Thompson seems to believe this is the case as he recently took to social media to address Warriors fans. In the clip below, Thompson tells the Warriors faithful that the “dynasty ain’t over."
It remains to be seen whether or not the Warriors can relive the magic of the previous five years although all indications say they can. With Curry and Thompson back on the court, they will have enough offense to win games. Not to mention, they'll most likely end up with a lottery pick which can only help to improve the team moving forward.
If you're a Warriors fan, there is no point freaking out just yet.

Head coach Steve Kerr explained the decision to reporters: “He put up a little bit of a fight but also understood why we wanted to take extra precaution.” He went on to say that the choice was not out of fear for reinjury, but to fit in extra conditioning.
“That allows for a more natural, stepping-stone to playing in an NBA game,” Kerr continued. “So I think our training staff was more comfortable with that, coaching staff was more comfortable with that. Steph wanted to play, but we’re just going to take the precautionary step and give him a little more prep.”
The all-star point guard broke his hand against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 30. In addition to Klay Thompson missing the entire 2019-20 season with a torn ACL, Curry’s injury has derailed the Warriors season who now sit at last in the Western Conference with a 12-47 record.
The team recently traded their newly signed guard D’Angelo Russell for the Timberwolves’ forward Andrew Wiggins before the trade deadline.
Curry plans to practice with the G League affiliate, Santa Cruz Warriors, on Monday.
Sheck Wes Recalls When Klay Thompson Dissed Him As A Young Lad
Why did Klay Thompson have to do Sheck Wes like that?
Sheck Wes blew up in 2018 thanks to his smash hit "Mo Bamba." Later that year, Sheck Wes came through with his very first album called Mudboy and was even featured on Travis Scott's Astroworld. While he may not be the biggest artist in the game right now, he's pretty recognizable. Of course, this wasn't always the case. While growing up in New York, Sheck had to overcome his fair share of disrespect which at times, came from notable NBA players.
Yesterday, Sheck hopped on Twitter where he shared a peculiar story with his fans. As he explains, Sheck was in New York City for All-Star weekend one year and asked Golden State Warriors star, Klay Thompson, for an autograph. Thompson ended up pushing Sheck to the side which led to the artist's lifelong hatred for the Warriors champion.
The "Mindfucker" rapper went on to say that the experience made him want to take photos with every single fan who asks. Clearly, the hurt he felt at the hands of Klay Thompson has made him a better human.
Athletes snubbing eager fans is nothing new so we're not exactly surprised by Sheck Wes' admission. Regardless, it must have felt pretty horrible in the moment.
Russell Westbrook Taunts Klay Thompson & Gets Back a Smug Smirk
Russell Westbrook had some harsh words for the Warriors bench.
Russell Westbrook has consistently been one of the scrappiest players in the entire NBA. He's never been afraid to dish out his fair share of trash talk and he continues to be one of the best players in the league, especially when it comes to racking up triple-doubles. Last night, Westbrook's Houston Rockets were dominating the Golden State Warriors which is a team Westbrook has some history with. The Rockets were blowing out the Warriors by 35 points with just six minutes to go and that's when Westbrook decided to take action.
As you can see in the clip below, Westbrook goes up to the Warriors bench and begins chastizing Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson. Wiggins simply smiles in Westbrook's direction while Thompson gives the Rockets superstar a smug smirk. Eventually, Westbrook was escorted away and kicked out of the match.
The Rockets got the last laugh in the end as they improved to 35-20 on the season and are fifth in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are last in the entire league with an abysmal record of 12-44. Still, the Warriors have three championships in the last five years which is something Westbrook can't really say anything about considering he has zero.
We're sure the next time these two play, it will be filled with dramatics.
Andre Iguodala Reacts To Klay Thompson’s Heartfelt Welcome Speech
Once a Warriors, always a Warrior.
Andre Iguodala was traded by the Golden State Warriors to the Memphis Grizzlies during the summer. After a bit of a holdout, Iguodala was traded by the Grizzlies to the Miami Heat. Last night, the Warriors and Heat played each other in what was Iggy's second game ever with the Heat. In the end, the Heat won the match by a score of 113-01. Iguodala finished with just two points, five rebounds, and two assists as he picked up his first win with the squad.
Prior to the game, Klay Thompson of the Warriors gave a speech in the middle of the Chase Center. The speech was to commemorate Iguodala's first game back while celebrating everything he did for the franchise. After the speech, Iguodala got up to address the crowd and offered some high praise for his former teammates.
“My brothers will be back in action next year.. to wreck havoc on the league for 80 games," Iguodala said. Of course, Steph Curry and Thompson are out with injuries but once they return, the Warriors will be back to being Western Conference contenders.
Meanwhile, Iguodala is playing for a Heat team that is in contention to go deep in the playoffs. His experience will certainly prove to be valuable for that team, moving forward.
Charles Barkley Completely Butchers Steph Curry & Klay Thompson’s Names
Classic Chuck.
Charles Barkley is one of the most entertaining former NBA players on television right now. Barkley is constantly making us laugh with his antics that are always getting a rise out of Shaq and his other co-hosts. In fact, Inside The NBA has quickly become one of the best halftime shows in sports. One of the things that makes Barkley so funny is how bad he is at pronouncing names. Whether it's Giannis Antetokounmpo or some of the other European players, you can always count on Chuck to get the names wrong.
On Monday, Barkley messed up another set of names as he was talking about the Golden State Warriors. The former 76ers star called Steph Curry and Klay Thompson "Stay and Kleph" which is a complete swap of the first letters of their names. Barkley wasn't able to catch himself in the act although Ernie Johnson made sure to remind him of his mistake.
Barkley's mistake immediately made its way to social media where he was ridiculed for the error. In the grand scheme of things, it's truly not that big of a deal. Minor mistakes are pointed out all the time, trust me, writers know that feeling.
Hopefully, Barkley can find it within himself to bounce back next broadcast.
