Over the past week, two songs have been released that chronicle Kehlani and YG's relationship. The first one, "Konclusions", was a collaboration between the two artists and was shared on Valentine's Day. It announced that the on-and-off couple was back on good terms. Just three days later, Kehlani dropped a solo track, "Valentine's Day (Shameful)", detailing that she was now splitting from the Compton rapper.
On the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, which uses a photo of Kehlani as its header, Budden, Rory and Mal pick apart the breakup track. "I feel like I've been hoodwinked cause it was just last week we came on this podcast, Rory made me listen to a YG and Kehlani song," Budden says. "I hated it on the first listen and then by the second listen I loved it. I was with this new image of YG in love and making songs like he was in love."
After giving the disclaimer that he messes with Kehlani's music, Budden proceeds to mock all the lyrics on "Valentine's Day (Shameful)" with his pals. "Somebody explain the woman's brain to me. You were immature three days ago?," he quips at one point. The crew goes on to laugh at certain platitudes she uses on the song and doubt the validity of her account.
Kehlani took to Twitter to respond to this unflattering breakdown of her vulnerable song. "joe budden is joke," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. When a fan explained how upset she was to hear Budden & Co. go in on the singer like that, Kehlani replied, "disgusting." She then directly addressed Budden by replying to one his tweets: "the amount of misinformation and lies and lameness in this episode about me and you used my face is... lol gotta love it." Budden tried de-escalate the situation by flippantly responding, "We love you, it's jokes... feel better." He then appeared to shade her with a follow-up tweet that read, "I’m bout sick of you artists… never a peep through years of praise but wanna jump outta windows when you hear something you don’t like… newsflash, i am not friends with you n****s."
Kehlani Receives Support From Halsey After Sharing Post Breakup Studio Session
Kehlani reportedly shared with the world that she’s once again single & released a song about her breakup just days after her Valentine’s Day surprise from YG.
Their Valentine’s Day was filled with teddy bears, red roses, and dozens of gifts, but just days later, Kehlani and YG are once again no longer together. The singer was excited to share photos of her “Balentimez” Day on Friday, but by Sunday, things had taken a turn. On the lover’s holiday the couple even delivered their collaborative single “Konclusions” and YG recently received a tattoo of Kehlani’s name, but even that wasn’t enough to hold together whatever went down between them behind closed doors.

Kehlani took YG back after his previous infidelity scandal where a video went viral showing him allegedly kissing an unidentified woman. The pair briefly separated before uniting once again, but this time around, Kehlani has made it clear that she isn’t going to return to a vicious cycle. She recorded and released her single “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” on Monday (February 17) and shared a behind-the-scenes black and white clip of herself in the studio.
“Last night making Valentine’s Day (Shameful) .. same room / same people i made You Know Wassup with,” Kehlani wrote. “Same energy… feel something and get it off. 3 therapeutic hours. appreciating those who see and hear me, and those around me holding me up. real grateful for expression right now. inward & onward, love always ALL ways.”
Halsey slid in her comments with some words of support. “Your positivity your light and your kindness will never be dulled by someone else’s darkness,” said the singer. “Maybe for a moment. But you persevere. You are the realest of the real mama. ?.” Tory Lanez added, “The realist.” Check out a bit of her session below.
A Boogie wit da Hoodie, NBA Youngboy & More Slide Into Our "Fire Emoji" Playlist
“FIRE EMOJI” has you covered with the best releases of the week.
While Valentine’s Day coincided with New Music Friday this year, this week’s releases weren’t particularly lovey. There were a few exceptions though. Everyone’s favourite on-and-off couple, Kehlani and YG, surprised us with their first collaboration, “Konclusions”, confirming that they are on at the moment. If you wanted a somewhat sappy anthem this V-Day, whether you’re single or not, they had you covered. We also selected a romantic cut from Justin Bieber‘s new album, Changes, for our “FIRE EMOJI” playlist on Spotify. On “Forever”, Biebs, Post Malone and Clever commit to being in their relationships for the long-run.
While the first verse of “Thug Love” may start out with A Boogie wit da Hoodie asserting that “this ain’t no fucking love song”, the rest of his lyrics suggest otherwise. It may be a tad too raunchy to qualify as a traditional love song, but the affectionate sentiment is there regardless. So I guess you could say we did end up with celebrating Valentine’s Day with our playlist additions. We’re always trying to spread love. On top that, “Thug Love” allowed us to get some representation from A Boogie’s new album, Artist 2.0.
This week also blessed us with new tracks from the freshmen class of melodic rappers. Two of its members, Calboy and Lil Tjay, teamed up for “Barbarian”. Another skilled crooner Polo G hosted some other young talents on “Go Stupid”, which called upon NLE Choppa and Stunna 4 Vegas to drop verses on the Mike WiLL Made-It/Tay Keith-produced beat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again could also be discussed in this category. With Still Flexin Still Steppin set to drop next week, YoungBoy delivered two singles in advance to get us ready. “Knocked Off” made it onto our playlist.

Kehlani & Keyshia Cole Rumored To Be At Odds After "All Me" Removal
Kehlani and Keyshia Cole collaborated on "All Me," but fans became suspicious after Keyshia's vocals were cut from the music video.
It's been a mini-Kehalni takeover this week as the singer dropped her music video where she split her singles "All Me/Change Your Life" along with her collaborative love song with YG titled "Konclusions." When Kehlani first released "All Me," the song featured Keyshia Cole. However, when Kehlani delivered her music video, Keyshia was cut from the track altogether.

The move caused people to suspect that there was animosity between the two performers and on Friday (February 14), the gossip fire was dowsed with fuel after someone shared alleged screenshots of the two women sub-tweeting one another. "Crazy how the ones you look up to are down to be looked up to but when they gotta be eye to eye with you all hell breaks loose. humble pie tastes good i promise," Kehlani tweeted last week. Although Keyshia didn't directly reply or reference Kehlani in a tweet she shared hours later, fans are convinced she was responding to the singer when Keyshia wrote, "Girl shut the f*ck up."
Kehlani also retweeted a video clip of Omarion's recent interview with Big Boy's Neighborhood along with a quote from the B2K singer that reads, "'If I responded to everything that happened to me on my journey I would not be here.'-@Omarion." Check out the screenshots along with a few reactions below. You can also watch Kehlani's "All Me/Change Your Life" music video right here.
