Brownies & Lemonade Apologize After Surprise RL Grime Show Gets Out Of Hand
Brownies & Lemonade has quickly become one of EDM’s most important party throwers. The group regularly organizes and promotes free Los Angeles events, plus festival stage takeovers. The collective’s Lounge party series is known for bringing massive special guests, but unfortunately the latest party proved to be too much for the venue they booked.
Last night, B&L brought the Lounge party back to the Union venue for a special RL Grime show. B&L did not formally announce RL Grime ahead of time, but the event flyer was a dead giveaway… and word spreads fast. According to videos, the line for the event spanned multiple blocks and took hours for attendees to enter. An hour into the event, B&L event tweeted out a warning for people to not stop by if they weren’t in line. The event managed to hit over capacity within an hour.
B&L posted a format apology on its Twitter account, addressing fan criticisms and hinting at future plans. B&L apologized for everyone who couldn’t make it into the event, and announced future priority for those who RSVP to their events. B&L also announced that they’re developing systems for their venues to ensure attendee safety.
The biggest news: B&L announced they will be discontinuing the Lounge party series until they find a bigger venue. B&L said that the Lounge party has outgrown the Union venue, and no more parties will be held until they secure a larger venue. The news may be a bummer to B&L faithfuls, but the party’s expansion will only help keep attendees safe.
At least the below videos from the party looked fun:

Steve Aoki's Pizza Chain Is Officially Open for Business
When one thinks of Steve Aoki, cake typically comes to mind — but today he’s all about pizza!
After much speculation (and stomach grumbling), his PizzAoki delivery service is finally here. Well, in LA at least. The worldwide DJ/producer may be best known for making music, but his culinary background is the perfect recipe to make this new food venture successful.
According to Eater Los Angeles, every PizzAoki pie starts with herb-filled dough and sauce specially crafted by Aoki’s mother, Chizuru Kobayashi aka “Mama Aoki.” Our mouths are already watering. The Mayhem pizza, just as an example, boasts 10 different Aoki-selected toppings.
The food business definitely runs in the family. Steve Aoki’s father Hiroaki Aoki founded Benihana, a sushi and Japanese steakhouse, in 1963. He passed away in 2008, but surely would be proud his son is carrying on the tradition.
PizzAoki orders are made out of Cloud Kitchens in collaboration with restaurant group Family Style Inc. Delivery is available through UberEats and Postmates from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 4 p.m. until 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
BRB… We need to order some pizza stat.

Gorillaz Reveal Lineup for First US Festival [DETAILS HERE]
Gorillaz are back again this summer. New album, new music video, new tour and edition of their Demon Dayz Festival in Los Angeles. Now for a big announcement: the lineup.
Surprise: Gorillaz are headlining the festival, of course. But, the undercard is full of Gorillaz collaborators. Erykah Badu and The Internet top the lineup, although they’ve never collaborated with the band. The rest of the lineup is a who’s who of favorites: DRAM, Little Simz, Kilo Kush and more.
Demon Dayz will be held at Pico Rivera Sports Arena & Grounds (near Whittier Narrows, for those of you who went to HARD Summer 2014) on Saturday, October 20. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m. PST, though American Express cardholders can buy tickets now.

Gorillaz Announce New Tour & Festival After Dropping Two Brand New Tracks [Details]
Hot off releasing two new tracks, Gorillaz has even more news to share. The band just announced new tour dates, plus a Los Angeles edition of their Demon Dayz Festival.
The new Gorillaz tour dates includes stops in Chicago, Boston, New York, Toronto, Montreal and Philadelphia, all in October. Little Dragon and The Internet will be providing support for the tour. We hope Gorillaz adds more tour dates, but they did extensively tour America last year. No promises there, we think.
Los Angeles gets a date too, the biggest date of all: an American edition of the Demon Dayz Festival. The first festival took place in London last summer, and included Noel Gallagher, Vince Staples, Grace Jones and more. The festival pretty much featured all of Gorillaz’ collaborators, so it was a huge deal. The lineup for this festival will be announced on June 4, and tickets go on sale June 8. The festival itself will take place on October 20 at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena & Grounds.
All of this of course follows the release of two new tracks from their album The Now Now, which you can listen to here.

Here’s Visual Proof That When It Comes To Your Talents, It’s Better To Show Than Tell
It’s very rare that folks are supportive you when you decide to leave your 9-5 to pursue a lifelong dream.
But that wasn’t the case for former NIKE employee Adonis. Before leaving his job to move to L.A. for his acting career, the aspiring artist was asked by his coworkers to perform a monologue (from Antwone Fisher) — and boy did they love it.
Judging by the comments, it looks like Adonis already has a pre-Hollywood fan base.
Good work Adonis. We’ll see you at the top.
