It was one of the biggest moments in hip-hop this year and, whether you view his return as a positive or a negative thing, Tekashi 6ix9ine officially came back last week. Releasing his return single and video for "GOOBA," the Brooklyn star hopped on Instagram Live and explained why he snitched, apologizing to all of his fans and taunting some of his fellow rappers, including Meek Mill. Unfortunately for Meek, it looks like there are signs that the two may need to play nice in the future because 69 might have a possible Roc Nation connection.
In the "GOOBA" music video, which now has over 93 million views, eagle-eyed fans noticed a Roc Nation logo on a baseball cap, which was only present for a split moment in the corner. The black and white paper airplane logo could be seen on an unidentified assistant in the video. While this does not confirm a connection between Jay-Z and Tekashi 6ix9ine, many are surprised to see Roc Nation being subtly represented and they have suggested that 6ix9ine possibly signed a management deal with the label.
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. In fact, this may just have been blown out of proportion. The dude could be rocking a replica version of the hat, or has worked with Roc Nation in the past. Who knows?
Social media is running wild with this story though so, take it as you will.
LeBron James Reacts To His Insane Logo Shot
LeBron James was playing with a ton of confidence last night.
LeBron James is in his 17th season but that hasn't stopped him from playing some of the best basketball of his career. The King looks rejuvenated thanks to this Los Angeles Lakers team and he is trying to set himself up for a potential championship run. Last night, the Lakers took on the injured Philadelphia 76ers and ended up winning by a score of 120-107. It was a big game for LeBron James and Anthony Davis who dominated on both sides of the floor.
One of the biggest highlights of the entire game was when LeBron pulled up from the Lakers logo and drained a long three-point shot. Social media went ballistic as LeBron made the shot with a ton of ease. It was so effortless but incredibly difficult at the same time. LeBron went on to comment on his shot, after the game.
“I know I put in the work on it. I don’t take no shots that I don’t work on," LeBron said. "I’ve never done that in my career. I work on it, I trust my mechanics, I’m able to let it fly with confidence.”
With the win, the Lakers improved to 47-13 on the season and are securely in first place in the Western Conference.
Meek Mill, Usher, & More Support Petition To Change NBA Logo To Kobe Bryant
Several celebrities & artists are in support of NBA changing the logo to honor Kobe Bryant.
There’s a petition circulating online with nearly 2 million signatures to make Kobe the new logo for the NBA. For years (since 1969 to be exact) the NBA logo consisted of the silhouette of basketball great Jerry West, who, like Kobe, played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Well since Kobe tragic passing this weekend, fans and celebrities alike have took to social media to voice their opinion on changing the logo in honor of Kobe.
The Change.org petition, which currently has over 1.7 million signatures from fans, simply reads, “With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo.” The petition offers a mockup of the potential new design that features Bryant’s silhouette.
Celebrities like Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg, Usher and Justin Bieber have all shown their support for the petition, re-sharing it on their own IG pages.
Usher shared the reimagined NBA logo to Instagram on Monday and wrote, “Couldn’t be a better time or all around athlete and person for it.” He also included the trending hashtag #changethelogo, which was echoed by Bieber in his own tribute post.
Meek Mill redirected his followers to the petition, while 2 Chainz said he wanted to get the Kobe logo tatted on him. Snoop Dogg asked the NBA to do what’s right and change the logo as well.
Now whether or not anything actually changes from the petition remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the people want Kobe immortalized in the game forever. We’ll continue to keep you posted. RIP Kobe.
Boosie Badazz Says NBA Should Change Logo To Honor Kobe Bryant
“It’s only right that the NBA take Jerry West off the logo and put Kobe Bryant on the logo, man” – Boosie.
In the wake of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, Boosie Badazz believes the NBA should change their logo to the Laker great. Boosie took to his IG Sunday night to pay tribute to Kobe, and says its only right that the NBA change the Jerry West logo to Kobe.
“Rest in peace, Kobe,” Boosie said in an IG video. “This shit sad, dawg. This fucked up, man . . . It’s only right that the NBA take Jerry West off the logo and put Kobe Bryant on the logo, man. That’s only right, man. Fuck that, man. You gotta put Kobe Bryant on the NBA logo.”
In another post shortly after, Boosie then shared a mock-up of what this proposed new logo could look like, and it’s pretty fly.
Following the report from TheShadeRoom, who also shared Boosie’s comments on their IG page, 21 Savage and others were in support of the logo change. 21 Savage wrote “On God” in the comments, while other fans were all for it as well.
Sadly, Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were among 9 people killed in the helicopter crash on Sunday morning. Per reports, Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, wife Keri, and daughter Alyssa were also on board and killed. Christina Mauser, an assistant basketball coach at a private school in Corona del Mar, was also a victim. Our thoughts and condolences to all the families grieving during this difficult time.
RIP Kobe.
Playstation 5’s Minimalist New Logo Officially Unveiled By Sony
If it ain't broke.
The new gaming generation will soon be upon us, with Sony's PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X set to arrive at the end of the year. Though little concrete details have been unveiled about the former, a leaked devkit has provided a potential glimpse at what the design may actually look like. While we wait for confirmation on that front, Sony has taken it upon themselves to toss a few breadcrumbs in our direction. During the recent Sony CES keynote event in Las Vegas, President and CEO Jim Ryan revealed the new console's upcoming logo.
As they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. For the most part, the PS5 logo is identical to both its PS3 and PS4 equivalents. For some, the utter lack of innovation was grounds for a good clowning, though one has to wonder what might have been expected to begin with. Were Sony to bust out something completely original, who knows what manner of door that might have opened?
You can see the minimalist design below, and sound off below -- will you be lining up to cop a PlayStation 5 upon its release this Holiday season?
