Open Enrollment Has Begun For MDMA Medical Trials In four Different States
MDMA has stored up its robust repute as a celebration drug for a while, however psychiatrists are discovering out it’s a lot extra than simply that. The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) simply opened up 5 medical trials to check the effectiveness of MDMA in treating PTSD. Results to this point have been overwhelmingly constructive.
People that suffer from extreme PTSD can now submit their title for potential MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Scientists are in search of contributors in 4 states for the 5 medical trials, the ultimate section earlier than the US Food and Drug Administration is ready to approve the substance for medical use.
The following 5 trial websites are open for enrollment inquiries:
North Hollywood, California
Fort Collins, Colorado
New Orleans, Louisiana
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
“If the Phase three trials exhibit important efficacy and a suitable security profile, FDA approval is predicted by 2021,” in keeping with MAPS. “Once accredited, MDMA-assisted psychotherapy would solely be obtainable by prescription in supervised therapeutic settings from specifically educated psychological well being suppliers.”

STUDY: MDMA Makes People More Cooperative & Forgiving
Scientists are studying that MDMA is far more than only a celebration drug. New analysis means that the substance can supply therapeutic advantages, and based on a current report, heighten social processing. Specifically, a brand new examine says MDMA could make individuals extra cooperative and forgiving in social conditions.
According to a crew from King’s College London, the drug impacts the best way through which individuals work together with others. Those who wrestle with “social processing,” a time period linked to such relationships, might turn out to be extra in tune with others with the assistance of MDMA. Currently, issues with social processing are “acknowledged as a basic problem in a spread of psychiatric circumstances and will not be handled successfully by present drugs.”
While the findings are superb, the examine in itself is kind of fascinating. Participants had been requested to play the well-known psychological sport “Prisoner’s Dilemma,” which is all about competing or cooperating with one other individual. When given a dose of MDMA, individuals had been extra more likely to take the cooperative route, however solely with reliable gamers. Also, they had been extra keen to rebuild relationships even after a breach of belief passed off throughout gameplay.
Professor Mitul Mehta from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, an skilled near the analysis challenge explains, surprisingly, “MDMA didn't alter how reliable they thought the opposite gamers had been.”
Instead, “MDMA elevated exercise within the superior temporal cortex and mid-cingulate cortex” that are “vital in understanding the ideas, beliefs and intentions of different individuals.” Rather than altering the decision-making course of altogether, MDMA particularly had an impression on mind exercise when processing the habits of others.
REPORT: Drug Use Among Young People Reaches Decade High
People in the UK are doing more Class A drugs than they’ve done in over a decade — which is being credited specifically to “increase in powder cocaine and ecstasy use.”
According to the Home Office’s Crime Survey of England and Wales for 2017/18 report, 8.4 percent of young people ages 16 – 24 did Class As in 2017 through 2018. The last time numbers were comparatively this high was back in 2005 through 2006.
That’s nearly double the amount of people who took that category of drugs from 2012 through 2013. There’s also a significant jump when compared to 4.3 percent in 2016 through 2017.
Overall, 3.5 percent of people 16 to 59 had also done Class As, compared to 3 percent in 2007 through 2008, with cocaine and molly being the drugs of choice. However, the majority of those surveyed said they only took those substances once or twice a year or so.

MDMA Is Now Being Tested As A Treatment For Alcoholism
Alcoholism is a real problem everywhere, and UK organization Addaction is stepping up to put a stop to it. But the leading mental health, drug and alcohol charity is going about things quite differently — testing out MDMA as a potential method to beat addiction.
A new study pioneered by Addaction will administer MDMA to help people battling alcoholism talk about, and eventually (hopefully) overcome, their addictions. This will be a world-first clinical trial investigating whether or not MDMA can be used as a feasible treatment in such cases.
Addaction’s Medical Director Dr. Paul Hughes finds it important to think outside the box. He says, “As treatment providers we need to be prepared to try new treatments, based on the best scientific evidence.”
The trial is being led by University of Bristol’s Clinical Research and Imaging Centre. Up to 20 clients will reportedly take part in the first phase of the study, but there’s still a long way to go.
Principal Investigator Dr. Ben Sessa believes this could be a huge first step in a new approach to addiction. “MDMA-assisted psychotherapy is still tough and distressing,” he says. “But it gives the patient an extra layer of armor. It helps them talk about their pain, reflect on the root cause, and begin the healing process.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this type of research and there are even more potential benefits of MDMA that still need extensive exploration. The more we find out about MDMA, the more we can potentially use its benefits for the better.

MDMA Lookalike Drug Makes Its Way Into Festivals
Narcotics experts are warning against dangerous drugs being mis-sold as MDMA.
According to reports from the UK, this substance can lead to psychosis and some users claim it has the ability to keep them awake for up to three days. These undesired side effects are not typical of MDMA or “Molly.”
Instead, this “fake MDMA” — drug N-Ethyl-Pentylone — is made three times as strong. It was first discovered in the US in 2016, which spread to Australia in 2017 and most recently has been found at the Manchester music festival, Parklife.
This drug has been linked to mass casualties around the world. Dr. David Caldicott, an expert in emergency medicine, explained the dangers of N-Ethyl-Pentylone as follows:
“It has been clearly responsible for the deaths of people overseas, and a rather unfortunate phenomenon known as ‘mass casualty overdoses’, where 10-20 people drop simultaneously. So, it’s of great concern to the music festival environment.”
While this was discovered in the UK, it’s possible for partakers to happen upon this in North America too, so please exercise every caution if you do take the risk of doing drugs at a show or festival this summer.

We tested a gram of n-ethyl pentylone @Parklifefest yesterday – looks & smells same as MDMA crystal. Relieved this user didn’t take it. Take care & seek medical attention if unwell. #JustSayKnow #TimeToTest pic.twitter.com/mWVkPHvhPQ

Middle-Aged Women Introduce A New Way To Take MDMA: In Cheese
The latest party drug craze puts the “E” in cheese. Seriously, people are pairing MDMA powder and cheese together and this story only gets better…
This developing trend didn’t originate at exclusive clubs, or at an underground rave, or even amongst the most avid festival goers. This method of taking MDMA, referred to as “brieing,” started at a middle class dinner party with middle-aged women in London. Hype.
Apparently, these 50-something females are onto something. MDMA and cheese seem to compliment each other quite well. The businesswoman and party host who started up this trend revealed to the Metro exactly how this all came about.
“One of our group suggested we all take MDMA together so we could open up to each other and improve our friendships.”
Not a bad idea…
“Our friend had been given a gram of MDMA by her daughter and we had no idea how to take it, as, though some of us had taken coke before we had not taken MDMA.”
They weren’t totally sure how to take the drug, but that’s when they had a flash of inspiration…
“I phoned my son who told us not to sniff it but to swallow it, so we wrapped some of the powder in a cigarette paper and put it in Brie and all took some each.”
“Nothing much happened for forty minutes then then the colours in the rug seemed to be a more vivid and before I know it was in an in-depth conversation about my fantasy sex life with an old friend.”
Now, wrapping “E” in brie seems to be a thing now. Others report sprinkling MDMA powder into hoisin duck pancakes. To each their own, but one thing is for sure — these women know how to throw dinner parties.
DanceSafe Warns Against Super Strong New Ecstasy from Secretive Drug Crew
Ravers beware — there’s a super strong batch of ecstasy pills making rounds in the UK that have organizations like DanceSafe worried. These pills are making headlines for their potency and for sending a group of people to the hospital.
According to recent reports, the pills stamped with a UPS logo (pictured above) currently in circulation in the UK contain more than double a standard dose of MDMA. Users are instructed, “if you have these pills, do them in halves, or quarters.”
With this, DanceSafe raises a very important question — Why are such strong pills in circulation? Well, they got to the bottom of it.
…Our sources say that the crew making these is based in the Netherlands and are the people responsible for creating some of the strongest pills to be found in recent years.
Known as the Partyflock or Q-dance crew, other pills in their portfolio include the Q-Dance, Defqon, Speakers, Ferraris, Partyflock, Android, Tri-Force, and more recently Heinekens and Gold Bars. The next pill in the series will apparently be Red UPS (all that means is some new food colouring in the mix).
So that explains strong pills over in the Netherlands, but what about the UK? After doing some investigating, DanceSafe finds that pills are being imported into the UK from Holland, being resold on the dark web, and shipped through (you guessed it) UPS. These same strong batches have popped up in the US.
If you come across a pill with a deep breakline, it’s there for a reason — take half or less. Users say hard pressed pills take a long time to “come up,” so do not redose. If the pill looks particularly well-produced such as these UPS pills, “start low and go slow.”

3,500 Ecstasy Pills Seized At 14,000 Person EDM Festival
Midnight Mafia, a hardstyle and hardcore music festival in Sydney has resulted in the seizing of thousands of MDMA pills and the medical treatment of hundreds of people.
It sounds like some music fans went a little too hard at the 16+ event at Sydney Showground last night. By the numbers: 14,000 people attend the music festival, 187 were searched by police, 3,500 MDMA pills were confiscated, 13 people were charged and 256 people were treated by paramedics.
According to a report, 32 total people were issued with court notices for drug possession and 13 were charged. Most notably, one 21-year-old woman was arrested after being caught with nearly 1,600 MDMA capsules and some cocaine. Another 21-year-old woman was charged after being found carrying 550 pills.
Local police authorities expressed their concerns with the large amount of drugs seized at the festival.
Detective Chief Inspector Gus Viera said: “We saw more drugs seized today than recent events, one of the largest we’ve seen, which clearly shows our messaging is not getting through. I am extremely disappointed with these results; however, we will continue to conduct these operations at upcoming festivals throughout the year.”
Maybe turn it down a notch next time, Midnight Mafia.
REPORT: Lethal Substance Found In 25% of This Country's Ecstasy Pills
An MDMA substitute deemed to be lethal is being sold as ecstasy in New Zealand — and found in approximately 1 in every 4 pills.
The cheap, easily manufactured substance is said to be especially harmful if taken in the same dosage as pure MDMA. The highly toxic chemical known as n-ethylpentylone is the ingredient users should be worried about.
Side-effects traced back to the synthetic drug include “increased heart rate, increased body temperature, increased blood pressure, anxiety, paranoia, agitation, inability to sleep.” Anyone who feels these warning signs should seek medical attention.
New Zealand director the drug related harm reduction service Know Your Stuff, Wendy Allison, shares her concerns: “In our testing this season approximately 25 percent substances brought us as MDMA have turned out not to be. Of those, the majority have been n-ethylpentylone.”
Test your drugs.
