Aaron Gordon had a lot of frustration built up towards Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade following the 2020 NBA Dunk Contest. Of course, many people thought Gordon should have won, especially since he dunked over Tacko Fall who is 7'6." In the end, Gordon lost out to Derrick Jones Jr. who just so happens to play for Wade's old team. Gordon was so upset about his dunk contest loss that he even wrote a diss track about Wade called "9 OUT OF 10."
Recently, Gordon and Wade decided to talk things out on Instagram Live, where they had an in-depth discussion about everything that went down during the contest. As Wade explains, Gordon had the best overall score but since the dunk contest winner was based on who had the best final round, Wade had to give the better score to Jones Jr. In fact, Wade admits he wasn't trying to make Gordon lose that round and simply wanted to judge that dunk on its own.
Gordon eventually came around to Wade's explanation while also acknowledging that Derrick Jones Jr. was very impressive in the competition. All in all, it seems like there is no real bad blood between these two and finally, we have some closure to this very strenuous saga.
Florida basketball fans can finally be at peace with each other.
Dwyane Wade Responds To Aaron Gordon’s Diss Track
Aaron Gordon recently made a diss track about Dwyane Wade in light of his dunk contest snub.
Aaron Gordon was rightfully pissed off after the NBA All-Star Dunk Competition back in February. Of course, he lost the contest to Derrick Jones Jr of the Miami Heat. Much of the vitriol behind this loss was directed at Dwyane Wade who clearly skewed his scores in order to give a Heat player the win. Last night, Gordon decided to finally get everything off of his chest, by dropping a diss track directed at Wade called "9 OUT OF 10."
Throughout the track, Gordon drops off bars about how Wade disrespected him and that he should have won the competition. He even made reference to the famous dunk in which he hopped over Tacko Fall who is 7'6."
Wade got to see the music video for the track and decided to take to Twitter where he gave his response. Instead of being upset, Wade gave Gordon some advice.
"He should trademark 9/10. Make some money off of it. That’s free advice that I won’t charge him for it," Wade wrote.
Clearly, there is no real bad blood between the two even if Gordon does have some general saltiness about the whole situation. The dunk contest is quite lucrative for some players and Gordon has been robbed twice now.

Aaron Gordon Disses Dwyane Wade In New Song "9 OUT OF 10"
Aaron Gordon is still upset with Dwyane Wade about what went down at the dunk contest.
Remember when Aaron Gordon dunked over a 7’6″ Tacko Fall and still didn’t win the dunk contest during All-Star weekend. I mean, how could you forget. It’s pretty well the only thing anybody wanted to talk about the entire weekend and for good reason. Simply put, Dwyane Wade messed up and he messed it up badly. The Miami Heat legend has been understandably blamed for Gordon’s loss and despite standing by his own opinion, the basketball world has continued to make Wade feel like the bad guy.
Gordon seems to be hurt the most by Wade’s betrayal and now, he is clapping back at the future Hall of Famer the only way the internet knows how: through a diss track. Before your face makes contact with your palm, try to give the song a chance. It’s called “9 OUT OF 10” and features a plethora of bars related to the dunk contest and how Wade just couldn’t appreciate his greatness.
There are plenty of NBA players who have thrown their hats into the rap arena although Gordon’s foray into the genre is seemingly coming out of nowhere. In fact, Gordon dropped a track just two weeks ago, in the middle of the NBA’s imposed quarantine. Clearly, boredom has begun to creep in and the Orlando Magic star is looking for something to do.
As for the diss track, let us know what you think, in the comments below.
JJ Redick Reveals Torturous Hazing He Endured As A Rookie
JJ Redick explains how his Orlando Magic teammates tricked him into a brutal punishment during his rookie season.
The glory days of cruel and unusual rookie hazings in sports are no more, as first-year players in the NBA, NFL and other leagues are much more likely to be forced to carry around a Dora The Explorer stuffed animal, rather than being duct taped to a goal post and tortured. This has been a great development for the youngsters coming up in today's NBA, but that road was paved on the blood, sweat and tears of rookies gone by.
During a recent episode of the JJ Redick Podcast, the New Orleans Pelicans' veteran explained one of the harrowing experiences he endured during his rookie season with the Orlando Magic in 2006.

According to Redick, his teammates coaxed him into a chair in the locker room under the guise that he would be apologizing to the team for being late to practice. However, the minute he sat down their devious plan sprung into action.
"As soon as I sat in the chair like three guys grabbed me and they duct taped me to the chair. And then they stuck me in the shower and the water was running, it was super cold, and they left it cold. They sat me in front of the cold water in the shower for like an hour. Everybody left practice and then the equipment manager found me like an hour later."
Redick laughed as he told the story so it's clear he doesn't hold any ill will towards his former Magic teammates, which includes the likes of Grant Hill, Bo Outlaw, Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard, Pat Garrity and Jameer Nelson. You can listen to Redick's recollection of the events in the audio clip embedded below.
Trae Young Hits Mo Bamba With Playful Jabs After Monstrous Block
Trae Young has a serious size disadvantage when compared to Bamba.
Trae Young has been having a dominant season with the Atlanta Hawks although it hasn't exactly resulted in very many wins. The Hawks are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and last night, his team lost to the Orlando Magic. Young was in his usual bag of tricks as he put up 37 points and was clearly the best player on the court.
Perhaps his biggest highlight of the night was when he went up and blocked Mo Bamba at the rim. What makes this block so impressive is that Bamba is a full foot taller than Young. At 7'1," Bamba is hard to block yet Young managed to elevate and do it. Of course, Young made sure to talk about the block after the game and even had some friendly jabs for his contemporary.
“That’s my dog. Mo’s my guy so I’m gonna be talking trash with him all the time now," Young said. "I’m definitely going to be talking about this one for a long, long time.”
While Young's efforts are impressive, it's unfortunate that they are going to waste on such a bad team. The Hawks desperately need to get the young star some help or else they'll be at risk of losing him when he becomes a free agent in a few years.
Orlando Magic “Tried Hard” To Trade Aaron Gordon: Report
Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon was reportedly on the trading block at the deadline, and could be once again this off-season.
The Orlando Magic's high-flying forward Aaron Gordon received interest from several teams leading up the NBA trade deadline earlier this month, including the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. According to Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, the Magic "tried hard" to work out a deal for Gordon, but ultimately decided against it. At least, for now.
According to Heavy.com, a source explained, “They were trying, and they tried hard to get something done with him at the deadline. All that gets brought back into focus once the season is over and you have a good idea what the market is for him.”
Gordon, 24, has been the subject of trade rumors throughout his six seasons in Orlando and it certainly seems as though those rumblings will persist into the off-season. At the very least, the Magic will continue to explore every avenue. Days before the NBA trade deadline, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski explained:
"Aaron Gordon's a player they've had some discussions about," Wojnarowski said on his podcast with Bobby Marks (H/T Bleacher Report). "I think it's a tricky one to trade him now, with the season-ending injuries to Jonathan Isaac, to Al-Farouq Aminu. ... If you're going to move Gordon and you want to try to stick around in the playoff chase...you've got to get back a significant amount.
"I think, for Orlando, if there's a significant return, I think they would be open to it. But I don't know if that deal is out there."
Gordon still has two years remaining on his contract - he is due $18.1 million in 2020-21 and $16.4 million in 2021-22. He is currently averaging 14.2 points, 7.3 rebound and 3.1 assists per game.

Markelle Fultz Reacts To Past Social Media Hate Against Him
Fultz has made a huge comeback this year.
Just a year ago, many NBA fans were calling Markelle Fultz a bust who would never amount to anything in the league. Fultz was drafted first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers and played very few games with them before being traded to Orlando. Shoulder problems plagued Fultz’s first few years in the league and it was hard for him to build momentum. Eventually, these issues are what brought on the bust label. Now, Fultz is thriving in Orlando and looks like a player with the potential to be dominant, for years to come.
In a new profile by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, Fultz spoke about some of the challenges he has faced throughout the early stage of his career. As he explains, he was on social media at the height of the hate against him and was well aware of the slander. For him, none of the stories mattered as he knew what the truth was.

“The thing is, it didn’t really bother me,” Fultz explained. “If I saw something negative, most of the time I laughed at it. Because it’s just not true. People say some crazy stuff. I read somewhere that I got into a motorcycle accident. I cracked jokes with my friends about this stuff. People just don’t know. I was [injured]. That’s it.”
Fultz’s transformation is quite impressive and you have to give him props for staying the course and working through his injury woes. Fans were harsh on Fultz but now, he looks well on his way to a long, fruitful career.
NBA Veteran Vince Carter Becomes First In The League To Play In Four Different Decades
This season will be his last.
For 24 seasons, Vince Carter has been a dominating force in the NBA. The 42-year-old league veteran is currently a shooting guard/forward for the Atlanta Hawks, but his career has taken him to many cities since 1998. He began with the Toronto Raptors (after being traded from the Golden State Warriors on draft night), then onto the New Jersey Nets, then had a brief stint with the Orlando Magic, a year with the Phoenix Suns, then over to the Dallas Mavericks before moving to the Memphis Grizzlies, then he was with the Sacramento Kings for a bit before making a home with the Hawks.

Carter’s career highlights include being a Team USA Olympics gold-winner, a two-time All-NBA, an eight-time All-Star, Slam Dunk champion in 2000 and Rookie of the Year back in 1999. He’s had a long, successful ride in the NBA for all of these years, and he’s recently announced that this season will be his last.
During Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, Carter played 18 minutes and scored three points. It may not seem like much, but it was a moment in NBA history that no one else had accomplished. Carter has become the first player in the NBA to appear in four separate decades, and it seems like a great way to bow out into retirement. Check out a collection of Carter’s best plays from each season of his career below.
