She just wanted O.T. Genasis to respect the art that she created, but unfortunately, the back and forth between the rapper and members of Keyshia Cole‘s family has turned verbally vicious. After chopping and screwing Keyshia’s hit song “Love” to create his chuckle-worthy, Crip-heavy track “Never Knew,” the singer wasn’t thrilled. When Keyshia Cole vocalized her disapproval, O.T. Genasis seemed to take things personally and unleashed a barrage of insults. 

Over the past few weeks, things have kicked up a notch as he’s talked about Keyshia’s private area and teased her mother for her drug addiction, resulting in Keyshia’s siblings to step into the ring. They’ve even insulted Malika Haqq, O.T.’s baby mama, making the situation even worse. In a recent Instagram Live session with Ari Lennox, Keyshia spoke openly about the exchange and said she felt “unprotected” and bullied throughout.

Before Keyshia brought up her beef with O.T. Genasis, she and Ari were talking about the right to carry firearms. “That’s why I was so…like honestly—I’m just not going to talk about that situation—but it just pissed me off so much because you know, at a time that everybody was going through so much in the Black community, getting killed and all that, getting pulled over and getting killed, and then you wanna do a whole song that I wrote about love and make it about shooting and killing and bang-banging,” she said. “It’s like, yoooo, sir. And then get mad that I say that I don’t like what you did like, turned the integrity of my music. And then just bully and bully and continue to bully.”

Keyshia added that she spoke with hip hop legend MC Lyte about the situation. “I was just saying how it felt like I was so unprotected,” she continued. The singer said that anytime she did try to speak up for herself, she felt as if things just escalated. “It was like no, ‘You come from the hood. You really ain’t sh*t. Your mom was on drugs your whole life. You don’t really have a right to what you feel about what you’ve created.’ More so like, ‘Lighten up. Why are you taking everything so seriously? It was just a joke.'”

When things turned nasty, Keyshia said she actually attempted to connect with O.T. Genasis by using some of her industry connections. “Like, ‘Do you know this guy? Like…is he okay? What’s going on? Is he stressed out?’” she said she asked. “I don’t know, what the hell… It should have been more so like… ‘My agenda didn’t fit your agenda. I apologize for that. To think this all began because Keyshia Cole didn't like O.T. Genasis's remix of her song. The beef between these two continues to climb now that Keyshia's sisters have become involved in the war of words. Things seemed to have simmered down until Keyshia said she would vote for 21 Savage in an R&B battle between the Atlanta rapper and O.T. Genasis. Then, things kicked off later when O.T. made comments about Keyshia's private area. He would later claim that he was just joking and things were going too far, but Keyshia's sister Neffeteria "Neffe" Pugh wasn't quite finished giving him a piece of her mind.

That caused O.T. Genasis to throw some crude jabs at their mother, Frankie Lons, who is currently in rehab to help with her addictions. Neffe isn't the only sister who has a few thoughts for the rapper, as Elite Noel has come forward with an onslaught of harsh comments aimed for both O.T. and his baby mama, Malika Haqq.

"Hey otgenasis you said you don’t like street b*tches and hoes and drug addics but ya baby mama been suckin d*ck in and out the Hollywood hills for decades ....... black d*ck , white d*ck , small d*ck , big d*cks.... skinny d*cks , fat d*cks , rich d*cks poppin pills ? like they Tylenol’s !!!!!!!!!!" she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Malika and their newborn son. "I want all the smoke bout my mama ...... and since I can’t catch him U gotta take the licks @malika and it’s not about keyshia nor neffe because they can handle they own ..... but my mama ...... that’s out wit me..... all bets are off! (We fuss and fight wit Frankie cause we love her , never on some hateful sh*t ! Gettin on social media jokin bout sellin my mama crack is some hateful sh*t! So now his family not exempt) and I ain’t talkin bout his baby nor his other kids ....I’m talkin bout his b*tch.... any of em....all of em ....line em tf up.""

It was funny at first to me only because I have my mother’s humor .....the whole remix fit his character..... he slow, y’all always make slow m*******s famous ....me personally would have took it as a joke and kept it pushin ......it was even cool when he tried to handle neffe in a disrespectful manner (she handled her own)...... but when u get to postin pictures of my mama gigglin about sellin her somethin that could have possibly killed her a million times that hit our hearts !!!!!!! There's a feud going on between O.T. Genasis and Keyshia Cole, however, the rapper seems to be the one instigating the beef. O.T. Genasis remixed her classic hit "Love" and turned it into the off-key gang-themed track "Never Knew." Keyshia made it clear that she wasn't enthused with the reimaging of her song, especially because the rapper didn't contact her to even make her aware of his plans.

What started as a harmless reimagining of a Keyshia classic at the hands of O.T. Genasis has since descended into a quagmire of disrespect. True, it's no secret that Cole had no love for O.T.'s so-bad-it's-good anthem "Never Knew," but it's clear that the gloves have hit the floor largely in part to Genasis' recent batch of below-the-belt comments made on Instagram Live.

While streaming, one spectator had the sense to mention Keyshia Cole in the chat, prompting O.T. to weigh in accordingly. “She ain’t shit. Keyshia Cole ain’t shit, I am," he declares. "I’m the shit. Keyshia Cole ain’t. Coochie smelling like fish sticks. That’s what’s going on. Coochie smelling like fish sticks. Keyshia Cole pussy smelling like fish sticks. Nah, I’m not gon’ talk about her.”

Given the rough and highly personal nature of the criticism, echoing Uncle Murda's notorious teardown of K. Michelle, Keyshia Cole took to Twitter to fire back a few responses of her own. Though she never called him out by name, Cole does proceed to liken her foe to a tortoise, making it clear that she's not above retaliating should he continue his tirade. "Hope this font go over some of u lame ass turtle head looking ass n*** heads!" she writes. "And hoe ass bitch n***s ain’t exempt."

He’s back at it. Jacquees may have sparked controversy after crowning himself the King of R&B, but O.T. Genasis is quickly coming for the title. The rapper has kicked up a bit of dust of his own after feuding with Keyshia Cole over his Crip remix to her song “Love.” When Keyshia publicly shared that she wasn’t a fan of the tune and criticized Genasis for not speaking to her before creating his track, he snapped back. The dispute wasn’t enough to keep O.T. Genasis away from dabbling in R&B, especially after 21 Savage shared his off-key pipes on Instagram.

Hip hop is well aware of 21 Savage’s love of slow jams. He’s sung classic hit on social media for some time, always entertaining his fans with his playlist filled with some of our favorite R&B artists. O.T. saw his fellow rapper’s performances and decided to up the ante with a battle. He returned with Mariah Carey‘s classic hit “Always Be My Baby” from her 1995 album Daydream. 

“KING OF R&B ? PERIOD POOH! Lol @21savage U don’t want no smoke ?,” O.T. Genasis teased in the caption. His friends slid in his comments to lend their support. “Talk to these n*ggas!!! Eager to get in on the fun, OT Genasis took to Instagram to invite 21 Savage to a full-fledged “sing-off,” a challenge likely fueled by 21’s impromptu karaoke session of R&B hits, with tunes from Beyonce, Usher, Aaliyah, Brandy, and more. He even put his falsetto to the test with an admirable rendition of Pharrell‘s “Frontin.” Suffice it to say, 21 Savage’s fledging R&B career is looking more promising than ever. Even OT Genasis couldn’t deny the dulcet nature of his tones. 

“21 Savage you have a beautiful voice, bro,” wrote OT. “I say we have a sing-off.” After Shade Room picked up the story, OT’s old sparring partner Keyshia Cole, whom he covered on the cult classic “Never Knew,” slid through to offer 21 her co-sign. OT clapped back with a playful-but-not warning, advising Cole to “not start with him again.” As for 21, he made sure to let OT know he wasn’t about to back down. “Ot don’t want this smoke,” he replied, fueling our hope that this ill-fated event can indeed be wished into existence.

Following in the footsteps of other rappers who expanded their entertainment portfolios by becoming actors, O.T. Genasis will soon be on the silver screen. The Long Beach rapper is continuing to build on his successful career by starring in a film titled Dutch. The movie is reportedly based on a New York Times best-seller about a drug kingpin, portrayed by Lance Gross, who finds himself at odds with the law, the Mafia, and power players on the streets.

O.T. Genasis shared a trailer for the film over on his Instagram page with an announcement about his inclusion. “MY FIRST MOVIE ? ?. -Dutch coming 2020! –Super excited to announce that I have joined the cast in @Dutchthemovie produced by @Mannyhalley coming soon! Be sure to follow @Dutchthemovie to stay up to date!!” the rapper wrote. “A MANNY HALLEY PRODUCTION. In theaters summer/Fall 2020.”

Aside from O.T. Genasis and Lance Gross, Dutch also stars Macy Gray, Jeremy Meeks, Michael Blackson, Natasha Marc, Melissa Willaims, and Isabella Ferreira. It’s rumored that the film will be turned into a trilogy series, so make sure to watch out for that. As O.T. Genasis and ex-girlfriend Malika Haqq welcomed the birth of their son Ace, the rapper also recently celebrated his first-born’s birthday. The Long Beach artist took to Instagram to share a touching message to his son “Lil Gen” to honor him on his special day. “Happy 10th birthday ? ? ? Lil Gen … I was broke when I had you..Tryna figure life out runnin da streets,” he shared in the caption. “Being at my lowest point and having a child with ‘Autism’ but it never tore me down.Now we best friends and our lives changed.I love you son #Mybestfriend #mydawg #myfirstborn ? ?.”

Years ago, O.T. sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club and talked about his personal life. He spoke about his son’s autism and becoming an advocate after learning about the condition. “I gotta make sure all the time that my son is straight,” he said back then. He added that the mother of his son doesn’t have to work and he’s thankful for that, but other families raising autistic children have nine to five jobs and can’t “work on early intervention.”

The rapper also previously admitted that when he found out that his son was autistic, he “was in denial.” However, O.T. Genasis said he learned how uniquely gifted his son is with numbers and other interests, something that fascinates him as a father. Check out his birthday post to his son below.

They’ve been awaiting their little bundle of joy, and now the day has arrived for Malika Haqq and O.T. Genasis. The reality star took to her Instagram account to share the good news with the world. Not only that, but Malika let everyone know her newborn’s name and birthdate. “Ace Flores 3.14.2020,” she wrote in the caption of a photo that showed the hands of O.T. Genasis, herself, and Baby Ace all together.

O.T. commented on the photo by writing “My boy ?” while friends like Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada, Cassie Fine, Kylie Jenner, Ashley Simpson, Larsa Pippen, Kourtney Kardashian, Adrienne Houghton, Kendall Jenner, Lala Anthony, Corey Gamble, Tiffany Pollard, and thousands of others offered their congratulatory messages. Malika and O.T. were together for two years before splitting up and later finding out that she was pregnant.

“Relationships don’t always work out the way we would hope but between love & friendship we have created a baby boy that will be here very soon,” Malika wrote on social media. “I’ve been single the last 8 months but I am in no way alone. OT and I have attended every doctors apt and over all loved on our son together while anticipating his arrival.” Congratulations to the happy parents!

Not long after announcing that he and his wife Crystal Smith planned to divorce, Ne-Yo stepped back into the music scene with a brand new single “Pinky Ring” featuring O.T. Genasis. The superproducer-singer-songwriter and his ex have been cordial in the media and during his visit to Pull Up with Joe Budden, Ne-Yo expounded on his personal life.

“‘Pinky Ring’ is a song about taking lemons and turning them into lemonade,” the singer said. “It is about a situation that anybody can use as an excuse to be down and feel a way, but instead, taking it and letting it be a positive thing. Not allowing it to bring you down.” Joe didn’t seem too satisfied with the answer and wanted to know what Ne-Yo did that led to the breakup with his wife.

“Without incriminating myself, without incriminating her and without putting any negative connotation on this… I will say that neither one of us was exactly who we needed to be in order for this to last, and that’s why it didn’t. Bottom line,” Ne-Yo said. “That’s what it was. I own mine, she owns hers, and the craziest thing is there’s no beef, there’s no animosity, there’s no love lost because we both understand that.”

Budden wasn’t convinced that there’s no beef between Ne-Yo and Crystal and called the singer “oblivious to what’s going on.” Ney-Yo disagreed. Budden later talked about his struggle with getting his engagement ring back from his ex-fiancé Cyn Santana and was surprised to hear that Crystal gave her wedding ring to Ne-Yo without a problem. Budden revealed he had to legally wait for the courts to rule on the matter.
