Not to worry, Bardi Gang: Cardi revealed that her next single will be arriving "very soon." On Friday (May 22nd), Cardi connected with fans over Instagram live where she made the exciting announcement. She told her 80K+ viewers that they can expect to hear the lead single off her highly anticipated sophomore album in the very near future.
“My single’s coming very, very soon, okay guys?" she told her fans. She went on to tease them that “my single’s coming when I lose weight...never!” before adding, “no, it’s coming real soon, I swear. Y’all gon’ love it.”
After her persistent fans asked her how soon is "soon," she replied, "Very. I don’t want to give too much information because my fans be watching but also the haters too.”

This single, which was put on hold earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will mark Cardi's first solo release since "Press" in May of 2019. Although she's done features for other artists since then, it's been a long time since fans have gotten a strictly Cardi single. Bardi Gang has been waiting even longer for the follow-up project to her 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy, especially after reported contract renegotiations caused a delay on the new album. However, the arrival of a lead single is a good sign that the new album is on the way.
In the past few months, Cardi's been teasing some new joints presumably off the new album, including a track fans have dubbed "Respect." However, according to @CardiBTeam on Twitter, she specified that "Respect" will not serve as the lead single.
6ix9ine Letting Fans Determine Name Of New Song
6ix9ine is putting the fate of his new song title into the hands of his fans by letting them decide what it will be named.
6ix9ine’s attention-seeking brigade continues to persist, and this time, he’s putting the power of choosing his next song title into the hands of his fans. 6ix9ine initially promised that the follow-up single to his explosive hit, “GOOBA,” would be arriving yesterday, but the rapper later decided to push back the release date another week. However, despite the fact that this new song is supposed to be arriving in six days, 6ix9ine revealed that he actually hasn’t come up with a title for it yet, and decided to let his fans assist him in naming the new tune. On Saturday (May 23rd), he announced on Instagram that the comment on his post that receives the most likes will officially become the name of his new song.
So far, it looks like 6ix9ine’s own comment, “Trollz ?” is the most liked of the bunch, which would ultimately defeat the purpose of the game. However, a few strong contenders are comments like “The snitcha” or “SNITCH 9ine,” so he may end up having to rep a track about his notorious street cred faux pas.
It was recently speculated that the song was going to be titled “TACO,” and that it would feature past 6ix9ine collaborator, Nicki Minaj. While Nicki may still be featured on the new song, it looks like it won’t be named after the Mexican dish after all.
What do you think the song should be called?
Kanye West’s New Album Titled "God’s Country," First Single Dropping Soon: Report
Kanye West's new album is reportedly called "God's Country," and according to Arthur Jafa, the new single and accompanying visuals could be out as soon as next week.
Kanye West's new album will reportedly be called God's Country, and we may be getting the first taste of the highly anticipated project as early as next week. On Thursday (May 21st), cinematographer and videographer, Arthur Jafa, spoke to cultural figure and artist, Michèle Lamy, about his recent work with Kanye. Michèle asks Arthur if the new video he's involved with is part of Kanye's Sunday Service, but he indicates that it's actually related to Ye's upcoming album.
“No, no, no, it’s from his new record, it’s called ‘God’s Country,'" Arthur responds, revealing the official title for the forthcoming album. "And this will be like the first single off of it. I don’t know if I’m supposed to not be announcing it…I may just be spilling the beans,” he confessed. “But yeah, it’s from a new record, that's forthcoming. I don’t know when the album is coming out, but the single I think maybe sometime next week. Maybe, it’s not definite."

Prior to Arthur sharing this detail, it was believed that Kanye's next project, a collaborative effort with Dr. Dre, would be titled Jesus is King II. However, it's possible that Ye simply decided to rename the album, although it's unclear whether it will still serve as a sequel to Jesus Is King, which dropped in October 2019. We'll keep you posted on any updates regarding this project, including a forthcoming single and accompanying visuals which, according to Arthur, could be arriving quite soon.
Fat Joe Says Ashanti Was Nearly Replaced By Jennifer Lopez For "What’s Luv?"
Fat Joe recalls how Jennifer Lopez nearly replaced Ashanti on the classic single, “What’s Luv?.”

“Irv and Ja had called me, and they woke me up [at] like 3 in the morning, and they say, ‘Yo, come down, we made a song for you,” he recalls. “I go to the studio, it was like 4 in the morning. They played ‘What’s Luv?’ and you on it. And they was telling me, ‘Yo, this is for you and J. Lo. We want the Latinos on this.”
Joe says he was taken away by Ashanti’s vocals and said she deserved to be there: “I was like, yo, J. Lo? She [Ashanti] sound amazing on here. I was like, ‘Nah, we leaving her there.'”
The story was news to Ashanti as much as it was news to any of the listeners. She reacted with an emphatic “What?,” after Joe finished.
“What’s Luv?,” featuring Ashanti’s vocals, went to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and remained on the charts for 20 weeks. It remains one of the most popular tracks on both artist’s discographies.
Tory Lanez Launches "Social Distancing Tour" & Teases New R&B Single
Tory Lanez live streamed a full-length set titled, “Social Distancing Tour,” and shared a snippet of a new R&B “baby maker” single, “Temperature Rising.”
Tory Lanez is coming through with a new single on May 15th, following the launch of his live-streamed concert event, “Social Distancing Tour.” Tory’s had quite the busy weekend. He dropped his new collab with French Montana, “Cold,” on Friday, following their Instagram live battle, and he’s got the return of his wildly popular IG live show, Quarantine Radio, happening later today. Tory also just released his new mixtape, The New Toronto 3, less than a month ago, but he’s already got three new projects in the works comprised of entirely different genres. However, none of that managed to distract him from filming an at-home quarantine concert called “Social Distancing Tour,” which he announced on Thursday (April 30th) would be a monetized event. He also indicated that a percentage proceeds will be donated to charity.
“Social Distancing Tour” was streamed live Youtube on Friday and Saturday night, but you can watch the entire two-hour set below:
The concert event was meant to emulate the since-postponed tour that he was meant to embark on his year, his at-home viewers serving as his live audience. Tory also teased a new single on Friday called “Temperature Rising,” which sees him returning to his Chixtape 5 R&B sound.
“IM DROPPING A REAL BABY MAKER MAY 15 !!!!” he wrote on the post, which includes a snippet of the song. “I LOVE MY WOMEN AND I OWE ALL MY RNB HEADS THIS !!!!!!” While you wait for “Temperature Rising” to be released next Friday, stream “Cold” and watch the “Social Distancing Tour” above.
French Montana Challenges Jim Jones On Instagram
French Montana and Jim Jones used to have beef, but things were hashed out, supposedly.
Four years ago, Jones offered French a deal to settle their problems, and that deal was for them to fight to squash the beef, but that fight never happened.
While the fight didn't happen, it seemed the beef was over.
Today, French hit Instagram to offer Jones a challenge, and it seems French wants to go head to head with him on "hit singles," just like RZA battled DJ Premier.
In the post, French tagged Jone's partner CEO Slow, in which Slow took it as something else, which you can see in the comment section.
