George Floyd's murder at the hands of the police has created a brand new movement in this country. It is a movement that is more organized, more united, and more motivated than ever. The goal is to eradicate police brutality while also advocating for social equality and equity amongst all races of people. Numerous athletes and celebrities have offered money to these causes and have also used their voices to propel real change. As you can imagine, LeBron James has been one of the most prominent voices on that front.
Today, LeBron released a powerful ad alongside his very own brand, Uninterrupted. As you can see in the clip below, we can hear a basketball bouncing in the background with words on the screen. The words say phrases like "shut up and dribble" which is something LeBron has heard all too often. Eventually, the basketball stops dribbling and bounces wildly as if the person has abandoned it. Then the words "shut up and lay still" appear on the screen.
LeBron finishes off the add noting "this is why we can't just stick to sports." This advertisement is undeniably strong and will definitely make people stop and think before criticizing athletes for using their voice. Life is bigger than athletics and it's important to use your platform to speak up against injustice.
This is something LeBron knows all too well.
LeBron James Details Nearly Joining NFL During NBA 2011 Lockout
LeBron James nearly got into football with Doc Rivers even saying that he’d be one hell of a player.
LeBron James is easily one of the greatest athletes of our generation and that apparently extends past the NBA. In a recent interview on the Uninterrupted podcast, Bron detailed the concerns surrounding the 2011 NBA lockout that nearly resulted in his foray into the NFL. The Lakers star, who was with the Miami Heat at that point, revealed that he began to train in anticipation that he might go into the NFL. “I had no idea how long the lockout was going to be,” he said. “We really started to actually train to be a football player when it came to October or November,” he said.

He revealed that his entire workout routine shifted towards going into the NFL such as adding more weights when bench pressing and sled pushing. Maverick Carter chimed in and said that the shift in work outs wasn’t for nothing either since the Dallas Cowboys had reached out with an offer.
Ultimately, the NBA resumed and Lebron was back on the court but he admits that he’s continued to have dreams about joining the NFL.
“It’s crazy because I actually never run on the field in my dreams,” James said. “It always gets to the point where I’m either in the locker room or getting dressed or talking about or seeing the fans and as soon as I’m about to run on the field, something else happens in my dream. It’s like something that it always happens like that.”

It’s well-established at this point that students around the world won’t be able to attend their convocation due to the global pandemic that is ravaging the world. The Coronavirus has been a huge disruptor to everyday life and people are trying to get back into all of their routines. This is exactly what LeBron James and Travis Scott are doing as they have teamed up to create a Graduating Class of 2020 shirt that is meant for High Schoolers. The shirt, which can be seen below, is a collab between Uninterrupted and Cactus Jack. You can also see that the words “We’re all in this together” are written on the front and back.
The shirt will be available for three whole days over at SHOP.TRAVISSCOTT.COM and will cost $40 USD. All of the profits will be going to the LeBron James Family Foundation and Feeding Texas. LeBron James Sued For Allegedly Stealing "More Than An Athlete" Slogan
A youth organization claims LeBron completely stole their slogan.
UPDATE: Attorney’s for Uninterrupted have responded to Game Plan’s accusations with the following statement: “The complaint filed by Game Plan today is meritless and contains numerous factual inaccuracies. Uninterrupted owns prior rights in and to the More Than An Athlete trademark.”
LeBron James is one of the most famous athletes in the world and he has a ton of endeavors outside of the sports world. One of his biggest accomplishments is his Uninterrupted brand which boasts television shows like HBO’s The Shop. One of the slogans that has been a huge part of the shoe is “More Than An Athlete.” LeBron has used this slogan on shoes and constantly refers to himself as someone who goes above and beyond the realm of sports. Over the last couple of years, James has centered many of his efforts around the “More Than An Athlete” brand.
According to TMZ, a youth organization in Maryland called Game Plan is currently suing the Los Angeles Lakers superstar as they believe he completely ripped off the “More Than An Athlete” phrase. The organization points to a 2017 NBA game where members of Game Plan attended a Cleveland Cavaliers game. The members were wearing T-Shirts that said: “I Am More Than An Athlete.”

The organization says LeBron has been monetizing the slogan and since Game Plan holds the registered trademark, they believe they are owed some money. In fact, Game Plan is suing the likes of Uninterrupted, Nike, Disney and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc for $33 million.
Stay tuned for updates on this legal battle as we will be sure to bring them to you.
